A Deadly Inside Scoop by Abby Collette and Joell Jacob (narrator) is the start of the Ice Cream Parlor mystery series. Bronwyn "Wyn" Crewse has returned home to Chagrin Falls, Ohio, to run her grandparents' ice cream parlor. Her aunt had tried turning it into a something more akin to a touristy bodega and had nearly bankrupted the store. Wyn's plan is to return to the tried and true: just ice cream, sundaes, ice cream cakes — all featuring her grandmother's recipes.

This was a great mystery novel that was light-hearted and fun to read. I loved Win's devotion to her family in both her personal life and the family business. I felt her friends were a great dynamic and worked as a great contrast to her down to earth personality. They all worked fantastically together and helped her solve the mystery.

All in all, this was a great mystery with surprising twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. If you enjoy something light and love great mysteries then this is the book for you. There is even a surprise at the end of the book - ice cream recipes from the ice cream parlor that was the setting of the novel.
