Main girls who are DOWN BAD have special place in my heart.

This should probably be 3.5 star read but I really enjoyed it and im feeling generous. I would say minus the constant doubting coming from our heroine(EVEN AT THE END, which I found kinda annoying) and some plot choices that felt out of place, everything else was quite fun to read. It didn't hinder my enjoyment at all. The ending could have been a little more impactul and not so lukewarm as well. 

What I liked was our main girl who was a fun MESS. Down horrendously bad, kind, driven, and tenacious. She didn't need to be some badass with a sword or destructive magic powers to be a compelling character. Main guy was... There? What I wanted was more scenes with them bonding, trying to communicate and not him being like aight see ya later boo..

I thought this book was so well crafted. I loved both the political intrigue in this read and also the hints of supernatural elements. I also really loved that this book as of right now is a complete story (standalone) It was a fun read. I also really loved how this book tackled not common representation like learning challenges like dyslexia. I struggled with learning challenges my whole life. I also this this one of the best political romances I have read in recent years. The villain was a bit predictable but It was a super fast pace read and one that I enjoyed. I really enjoyed this read and think you should check it out if you liked the political focus worlds like ash princess!!! Such a great read!

A Dragonbird in the Fern is a fantasy meets murder-mystery romance with incredibly well-written characters and a unique and vivid world. This book follows the story of Princess Jiara after the death of her older sister Scilla. While Scilla’s vengeful ghost torments the city and her loved ones, her betrothed requests that Jiara takes her sister’s place as his wife to unite their countries.

Leaving her whole life behind is stressful enough, but with a language barrier and Jiara’s dyslexia it makes her situation all the worse. When she discovers a clue about her sister’s murder she is determined to find them so that her sister can find peace in the afterlife.

I absolutely loved reading this book! The world and the characters were so unique and interesting to read about. I loved Jiara’s character most. She starts off as this sheltered, shy and naive girl that grows into a strong and determined leader.

I enjoyed reading the dynamic of Jiara and Raffar’s relationship. When they meet, they cannot speak to each other without the help of a translator which puts some strain on their relationship in the beginning. But eventually when they are able to talk to each other, they are such a lovely pair and they have great chemistry.
