I liked this book a lot. I never would have expected the secret that Lainey had but I loved it regardless. The found family vibes this book gives off is what really made me fall in love with it and was the deciding factor of me giving the book 4 stars.

5 Stars! ✨ Hi BookLovers, Sport Romance is always my weakness.. I finally completed this Series. I’m happy with the outcome and the character of this book. I finally understand now Alex know Rook. I know this is the consequences of reading the book not according to the Series. But don’t worry I finally get it and it still worth it tho. Highly Recomemded! Xoxo

this was sooo adorable!! RJ worships the ground Lainey walks on and he makes her feel so safe with his teddy bear cuddles SIGHS oh to be loved by Rook RJ Songs that are literally Rj and Lainey - "Cold Coffee" by Ed Sheeran (Alaska cabin vibes) & "i don't want to watch the world end with someone else" by Clinton Kane (view spoiler)[ this is pregnancy trope done right! (hide spoiler)]

It was just a quick read to prevent me flung into a reading slump after the Devils Night Series, so it wasn’t that good in comparison. But it was alright.

literalmente me alegraron la vida, todo fue tan lindo AMO AQUÍ

this book was sooo cute i loved it and it kinda reminded me of a fanfic that i read like a year ago that i also like a lot so i definitely liked it and would read it again

wasn’t bad i thot it was gonna be cringier.

I would’ve enjoyed a baby warning but besides the fact I hateeeeeeeee baby books it was good His groveling, the gifts, the apologies were all *chefs kiss* and I must admit they were both a dilf and a milf. Their relationship was super cute and I really enjoyed how the first chapter was present and then like the next 100 pages were past, then back to present it just kept me interested. Even when she suddenly was like “oh btw you have a kid with me” jsbsjehdbejebrbdbeb Was good

Sometimes all you need is a second chance romance book with no angst.

This series is a spin off from the “pucked” series, which I haven’t read. But you definitely don’t need to read it before you read this! This was such an addictive read and so easy to binge read, if I had the time I could have easily read it in one sitting. I’m planning to binge read the rest of the series once I’ve finished my CR. This book also has one of my favourite tropes, I don’t want to spoil anything, but I really loved it! RJ and Lainey were so sweet together. I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop in the beginning of the book. They were such a cute couple. My only problem is that I wasn’t obsessed with it like I thought I would be but I still really enjoyed it and I would 100% recommend.

I enjoyed it. It was funny. But I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought.

This was really good, especially because I love hockey, BUT I docked it a star because I don’t love the surprise pregnancy/baby thing but it ended up not being horrible.

Just reading the summary for the book, I just knew that it was going to be hella of a ride for Rook and Lainey especially Rook omitted the truth about his self but we can save that later on. Let's get started on Rook and Lainey persona. Rook He is very known for his hockey career that he needs a little me-time. So when he gets unrecognized at his favorite career, he goes for it. Who can blame him? It is hard to be on the spotlight for so long. But it is going to bite him. But he knew, and I recommend him for pulling through and making it work when they reunited again. Their reunion may be total shocker but there is a bigger surprise for him. It's definitely surprising but he takes it well. And I love it. He is a easy guy that anyone like him especially Lainey. Lainey I kinda struggle with her character. Like she is a little weird but everyone is. No one is simple. Everyone is unique in their own way. But I just could not get into Lainey character. She was just annoying to me. Like she made the situations so much worse than it needs to be. Take a breathe and chill. Don't be so dramatic. You are stressing out the situation than it needs to be. Rook and Lainey These two are cute but it takes a lot of work for them to be together. It was kinda unnecessary especially in Lainey court. Like it does not needs to so dramatic. He wants to be there and he continue to do so, so why keep doubting the situation. I just did not like that at all when Lainey does it. But overall, it is a cute story between two opposite people. Opposite does attract, what can you say. 3 1/2 Stars

it was entertaining enough but the first half was so much trouble to get into

I like the beginning of the story. Its kind of a different take compared to the other books I've read. The plot is basic tho and I can actually think of other books in Wattpad with the same plot.

When RJ Bowman needs time away from the crowds and lifestyle of an NHL hockey player, he visits his cabin in Alaska for some quiet fishing. On the way there, he meet Lainey who is on her third masters' degree, this time in marine biology. She is headed to Alaska to study local wildlife. They end up spending a few magical weeks together, but when the real world calls, they separate and lose track of each other until fate brings the two of them back together at an aquarium birthday party. A Lie for a Lie is a cute, fun romance filled with humor and sweet moments. The dialogue, while being quirky at times, is realistic and believable. Although the children in the story are typical toddlers, they are also adorable and add to the enjoyment of the book. Even though, the conflict in this story is minimal, the adult characters are extremely likable and deal with real life issues such as anxiety and trauma. Overall, A Lie for A Lie fits the mold of a light and entertaining romance.

I loved it!! This was so adorable, sweet, and romantic. Surprise baby, NHL hockey player, a sort of second chance romance. The audio narration was amazing as well!
