The book deserves a 2.5-3. The story was wonderful, but the way it was written wasn't really all that. 
Saroo begins with his life as a child in India, which started out really good. He talks about how we got lost and never found; a 5yr old lost child in India, far away from his hometown. He ended up in an orphanage after being neglected for too long. An Australian couple decide to adopt him and raise him, up until he was old enough to live alone. 
All along, he never forgot his blood family and hopes to find them again, which he does 24 years later, with the help of Google Earth. The details of him searching obsessively was what bored me, it could have been written in a much more appealing manner. The ending was all right too.

It took me more than it is supposed to read this book due to personal reasons. However, I absolutely loved it. It is well and emotionally written and it describes the journey of a kid to find his family. 
The ebook is easy to carry but the paperback version is not very heavy so recommend both.
Although is the kind of book that you will only read once in your life... it is a book that everybody should read to realise that pursuing your dreams can make them a reality. Never give up!!!!

I think this story is incredibly interesting and inspiring. That being said, he's not a writer. This might be one of the only times I simply recommend the movie.
