After reading the "cliffhanger" of the first novel in the series, I just HAD to find out how the story of Maggie and Clay would end! Therefore, I'm very pleased that I waited til Meredith Walters was done with this 2 part series. Similarly to the first one, I stayed up all night reading this. I never put it down. I felt so many emotions while reading this one, and while it was less angst filled/dramatic than the first one I still enjoyed the more mature/redemptive feel of Light In The Shadows. 


  Light In The Shadows
 started off with the beautiful opening and redemptive feel that this book exhibits throughout:

  
    Forgive. 

Such a small word. Only seven letters but they carried the weight of the world.

Seven letters between me and the one thing I wanted most in my life.

No word in the history of words was harder to give and even more difficult to receive.

But I needed it. Craved my redemption deep in my bones.
  


We have Clay who is trying to pick up the pieces of his life after he let his darkness almost consume him. He is getting the help that he's so desperately needed, working on making himself better so that he can be the man that Maggie deserves.

The beautiful love story of Maggie May and Clayton Reed isn't an easy one. In fact, it's one of the most complicated love stories that I've ever read about. They both have so much to overcome, so many struggles, so many insecurities, doubts, to finally be together. I don't know if I would have loved this book as much as I did if I didn't have Clay's POV as well. He is such a complex endearing character. I love him so much and even though I didn't always agree with his choices, I found myself understanding them in the end. Can they do it? Can they finally be together? Or has the darkness overshadowed all the light?

  Find You In The Dark
 is one of the best series that I have ever read and even though it is an emotionally draining series to read I found their love so beautiful and heart-wrenching that I can't help but treasure this series for years to come. I hope you all come to love Clay and Maggie as much as I have.
