I know I shouldn’t start off a review for a book off of NetGalley with this, but I didn’t expect to like this book. Certainly not as much as I did. It could be because the description began with ‘for fans of Nicholas Sparks’ or it could be because the premise seemed too cruel, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much. You’re probably wondering why on earth I bothered requesting it then. I did so, despite my doubts, because the premise intrigued me. The idea of a twin pretending to be the other appealed to me as it was very reminiscent of those films I watched as a child on the Disney channel whilst being much more honest and real.

So this book took me longer than necessary to read. It is a easy read but I had put it down and forgot to pick it up for while. The premise was very interesting to me. I always found twins to be interesting and I liked the way the twins differed in this book. They had there difference from style, to personality, to hobbies. When Michelle passes, you see how it is a lot harder on Kelsey than it would have been for a non twin sibling to loose there sibling. She struggles to deal with her sisters death, her other half in many ways and her opposite as well. In her emotional roller coaster she makes a decision she didn't expect to go as far as it did. I may not be able to relate to Kelsey's choices but I can see how someone would do such a thing. I liked how we got to see Kelsey grow throughout the book as a person and as a daughter. She learned a lot about herself and her sister Michelle. I thought the way her family handled their grief was believable and sad. 
My only conflict is with the ending, I felt like it was a bit too simple and could have been expanded on. (I'm trying to not leave spoilers.)It seemed a little to easy for me and wanted a little more realistic emotion the way the rest of it seemed more realistic. 
At the end of the day I'd rate this a 2 1/2 - 3 star read. If you want a contemporary read after a crazy thriller or complicated fantasy this would be a simple read for you.

This isn't the usual kind of young adult book I read but it sounded interesting so I decided to give it a try.

I am glad I did. I actually liked this book and it did keep me reading. It isn't one that got me staying up late but it is one that I wanted to keep reading because I wanted to know what would happen next.

I liked the way it is written. 

I do recommend it.
