this is my second (third?) attempt in reading helena hunting's contemporaries and honestly at the beginning i have low expectations for the possibility of liking or enjoying this one as my previous experiences were blehhh but i ended up being pleasantly surprised by how taken i was to the story and both h/H. it was nice to read two people being matured enough in all of the messiness and uptightness. the balance of both main characters worked well here and i felt their chemistry. ok i admit i cringed a bit @ the storm/calm thing when it popped up more than necessary but i get why. and yeah, cute couple lovely story.

i think i cried bc of lavender bc shes so precious like????? best babie girl ever mwa mwa,,,,, ryan is just such babie boi mah heart and like it’s great reading alex and vi as parents omg mah heart maybe i got emotional a little bit luv,,,,, 

anyway so ok ok the first half,,,,, cannot put it down i was just really into it y’all,,,, yeah for sure i miss reading a soft man in na ngl 🤧,,,, and then the other half not so much but it wasn’t bad ig,,,,, did not really feel the conflicts wish it were something else or,,,, idk lol anyway

This is actually my first book by Helena Hunting. I’ve never read anything from her before this is my first time and I have already fall in love hard with her and I’m going to read more from her. 

I am a Romance Lover—I’ve always have love Alpha Man. The bossy, demanding but sweet kinda man. In my heart always have a soft spot for that kind of man/character but 𝙍𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣, Jesus Christ. The rules follower, the smart, kind, sweet, the kind of man that you bring to your mama & papa, the kind of man that treat his girlfriend right, the kind that date, wine and date, very safe man and doesn’t do one night stand. He has already making it’s way to my heart permanently. 

How can you not falling in love with him?! 😍 

And the Heroin, 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙚—is very opposite from the hero. She is the chaos, the storm, the stubborn and she bring trouble wherever she goes. But what they doesn’t know is that the opposite attractions, the one and only one night stand brings them together. The Mummies issued that they have in common tied them together in short amount of time. 

I just love their storyline. Their love for each other. I love the characters for this book. Is not every day you read about that kind of Hero. Just please give this book a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I like that Kingston doesn't control Queenie's storm but calms it and overall loves all her chaotic mess

okay it took me a while to realize that their names match ... King and Queenie.. anyways they better name one of their kids Prince/Princess like DUH omg and the way they call each other My Queen and My King AHH

Kingston has set the bar high for all book boyfriends now, and honestly, someone tell me where I can find my own Kingston. The dynamic between Kingston and Queenie was just so flipping perfect! Ugh...p-e-r-f-e-c-t!

I liked this better than Bishop’s story, but only cause the Boy Scout is a closest sex god lmao. I also liked that there wasn’t a huge breakup from some miscommunication. Queenie and Ryan King captured my heart

i thought this book would be boring after 50% as everything fell into place already but... i was wrong. with a new character and sissy's another cameo, it was rly a shtstorm (as one of the title chapters said.)

overall, i liked this book compared to the previous two in this series. i loved reading queenking and their interactions. also, i loved king's personality 😔 so polite and patient haha

Helena did it again, I was addicted. I loved this book so much. It’s definitely my favourite from the series so far. I really enjoyed the forbidden aspect of the book. I always love a good forbidden romance. 

I loved King and Queenie together. They had so much chemistry. They are completely opposites but they fit together so well. Also the fact that their names are King and Queenie…I’m obsessed. King was everything! He gave me some serious John Tucker vibes🥺 He was so sweet and swoon worthy. I need a King in my life asap. Queenie was a bit of a hot mess, but I still loved her🤣

The books are also getting progressively spicier as the series goes on and I live for that. The spicy scenes in this one were so good!

I am beyond excited for the next book. Bring on Jake and Hanna!

It isn't long before they find themselves drunk and in bed together in what should amount to no more than a one night stand, but their attraction is not that simple. Unfortunately it becomes more complicated when Ryan discovers that Queenie is his NHL hockey team manager's daughter, and she is temporarily working as her father's assistant. 

In the beginning of A Secret for a Secret, the problems the protagonists face don't seem to be all that difficult to overcome, but it isn't until near the middle of the book that the real issues become clear and explode with both humor and drama. The characters are well drawn if a little bit cliche, but the troubles they face are unique and engaging. Overall, the plot in A Secret for a Secret is fairly predictable, but the book provides a light, fun story with likable characters that makes for an enjoyable read.

Addition to my review - I just realized that the ax throwing bar where Ryan and Queenie go for a date is the same place that was in Kiss My Cupcake, which I loved, so just for that, I'm raising my review a half star to 4 1/2 stars.

This was a fun romance book. I liked Queenie and King as characters, they’re definitely too good to be true, especially King (with his milk drinking ways). 

Queenie’s big dark secret was something I was expecting at all and I can see how it messed with her especially with her “mother” trying to constantly bring her down.

All in all fun. I really liked the epilogue.
