1.5⭐️. If I was younger, maybe I’d have enjoyed the awkwardness of it all, but I’m not and it was flat. It seemed liked it was all trying to hard to be like “wow we are meant to be.” Oh and the whole “I need to loose my Vcard asap” was odd. I mean I remember being 18 and I did not talk that much about it or pressure any of my friends that much about it. Anyway, it was a quick 1 day read that fell flat for me.

Ya hacen meses desde que leí este libro, y es como si se hubiese borrado casi por completo de mi memoria. En su momento me pareció gracioso, no es tan romántico y bonito como me gustaría pero, es divertido, cómico y bastante awkward indeed. El problema es ese, que no es memorable. Lo que más me llamó la atención es que está escrito por un par de autores que fueron pareja, te hace cuestionarte si alguna anécdota se habrá escapado por allí un poco adaptada para los personajes. No sé, se me hace bastante curioso e interesante. Es la clase de cosas que me interesan a mí porque soy una chismosa y no directamente por el libro, pero bueno, se me hacía necesario mencionarlo.

No estoy muy segura de que sea exactamente mi tipo de humor, pero me sacó risitas en más de una ocasión así que está medio aprobado en ese ámbito. Lo de Toilet Boy Cinderella fue bastante gracioso y hubo un chiste con What Makes You Beautiful que honestamente fue lo mejor que me pasó en todo este viaje: "You're insecure/Don't know what for/Right now I'm writing 'Toilet Boy' on the do-or-or...". ¿A que lo leyeron cantando?

Las amistades no me gustaron, (te estoy viendo Stella). No todas al menos, y eso le baja muchos puntos. Además, eran problemas de mal entendidos por falta de comunicación constante y eso como que me desesperaba un poco.

Esta frase me atacó porque I'm in this and I don't like it.

"I think only loving someone because they love you is selfish," I went on. "It's spineless. It's like only admitting you want someone once you know they want you".

Lo siento sí, perdón por ser selfish y spineless xD. Además, esta parte que pondré abajo, me representa:

"Half the problem is that I do the same thing with boys that I do with clothes: I imagine an outfit before I go shopping rather than just waiting to see what's in the store when I get there. I daydream scenarios that will never happen. I think about boys falling in love with me who in real life wouldn't look at me. And it's not even me in the daydream, it's this sort of celebrity version of me, all glossy and poised and sexy. I imagine being invited to parties where events play out perfectly. How I'll meet the love of my life and he'll be inexplicably drawn to me and say things like, 'I would die for you, Hannah'."

Pero realmente esas son las únicas partes que valieron la pena resaltar para mí. Eso, y el hecho de que Hannah no usara Facebook porque same, pero fuera de eso todo muy meh.

Honestly, the writing and the characters were amazing. The plot is what made me give it only 3 stars. The plot was kind of strange. It’s kind of like the entire plot was basically just around the two main characters (and really everyone else) losing their virginity? I thought it was going to be more than that. Like more romantic or really anything. It was a fun, light, and comical read, though. Definitely helped me out of my reading slump.

Um..tbh what. I honestly didn’t love it. I mean...that was 300 pages of what exactly...not really any ACTUAL romance. Sex is not all that’s important in life. And too me that feels like what this entire book was trying to say..

Nope. The more I think about this book I just think of more and more things that I didn’t like. A lot of the characters in dialogue felt incredibly misogynistic. The main characters were all completely obsessed with losing their virginity and it was pretty much all they talked about the entire book and honestly most of the characters and all of their relationships with each other were just incredibly toxic and it’s just not very fun to read about. Not for me at all.

3 Stars. Honestly this book had so much potential but it wasn’t executed well. It’s cute but the story is kind of all over the place and the characters aren’t very well developed either. I enjoyed it but it definitely could be better.

A Totally Awkward Love Story was just that… awkward. But in the very best way possible! This story was all kinds of adorbs mixed with laugh-out-loud humor that was impossible not to love. Reading this book was such an enjoyment for many reasons, so let’s take a quick look at it. Shall we?

First of all… this book was a majorly sex-positive story. There is quite a bit of sex discussed. People are having sex, discussing sex, concerning about sex… it’s all there. This is definitely for the older YA reader, but I love how realistically and bluntly it’s discussed. At first I was a little surprised by it… but that’s just the overprotective mother in me talking. I fully appreciate that teens are hooking up and experiencing these things at this age, so having a book describe it all so bluntly in terms teenagers can relate to earns major points from me.

Also the friendships in this story were very important. Hannah’s best friend, Stella, grated on my nerves very early on in the book. She was completely self-absorbed and your typical “mean girl”. There were other friendships in this story as well, that were much more on the healthy side that I truly enjoyed.

The romance between Hannah and Sam was… well, awkward, really. They were so adorable! Both completely insecure, which caused them to make quite a few frustrating choices throughout the story… but very realistic in a naive teenager kind of way. The miscommunication and misunderstandings were a bit much at times… but overall, I really enjoyed these two and their chemical pull toward each other.

Overall, such a fun and HILARIOUS read!! These two authors were fantastically together, as this story flowed flawlessly and it was impossible to tell it was written by two separate minds. Such a fun story that’s the perfect read to bring with you to the beach this summer. It’s a very quick, fast-paced story, and can easily be read in only a few hours. I also loved how entertaining it was… the laughs are seriously constant, and I adore that in my books. Definitely one you won’t want to miss this summer!
