Reviews

Short review: I really enjoyed this book! It's the first book I've read from this series. Someone very dear to me gifted me this book a few weeks ago and I finally read it. I loved Cage from the beginning. I'm sorry, I just love the bad boys with a nice heart. He's too sexy for his own good. I was literally fanning my face a few times because of how hot he is. I don't like the nipple piercings in men but somehow Cage really manages to make them sound and look sexy. Only on Cage! I actually liked Eva even though she would rub me off the wrong way at times but still, I loved her character. I'm actually looking forward to Kirt's story and Green's story (friends of Cage). I don't know if they have books but if they do, I need them asap.

Spoil Free Review Rating: 4 stars - Loved it Genre: New Adult - Contemporary Romance Source: Bought Heat - Steamy - Cold Shower needed. I fell hard for Cage in Because Of Low (Sea Breeze #2) with his cocky, arrogant attitude and then his over protective, possessiveness and jealously with Low. But I did not get that in Whiles It Lasts. In the beginning it started to bother me but as the story progressed I was once again falling hard for him. I think his attitude in Because Of Low worked because Low was feisty and was able to give it right back at him. Eva is sweet but distraught has she had a tragic loss in her life. For plot wise his attitude from before would of not worked and would of felt off. Cage can have any woman he wants. He is not used to anyone telling him no. To his surprise Eva is not like anyone he has ever met. I loved that their relationship starts out as friends and he is the one to bring light to her darkness. It was great how little by little she starts to come to life again. Even though I missed his attitude from the previous novel I still enjoyed all his swoon moments and of course I felt this novel was more steamier in the bedroom department. "I'm about to pump this tight hole with my finger," he said in a ragged voice. Each hot breath against my ear gave me chills. "Okay," I choked out. His finger slowly eased out and back in and I thought I was going to die from pleasure. "Does that feel good, baby?" he asked, pressing a kiss beside my ear I was a little bummed there was no big twist or secret. That is one of the things I look forward to when reading an Abbi Glines novel. She is able to shock the heck of me with her crazy surprises. All said and done I ended up loving Cage and Eva story. What to say about While It Lasts? I love Abbi Glines's books-seriously, every single one I have read I have really liked. She is a truly gifted writer. This book was no exception. We really got to know Cage in Because of Low (I haven't read Breathe yet so I have no idea about that book)-and I personally rooted for him to have his own love story. I'm happy he did. Cage gets a DUI and is forced to work on a farm that Eva and her father run. Eva is a sassy woman with a hard past, having lost her childhood sweetheart. Cage and Eva do not get along at first, Eva pushing his buttons. As they start to actually get to know each other-they start falling for each other despite Eva's father's warnings and the family of Eva's deceased boyfriend getting in the way. I'm excited to read the rest of the Sea Breeze series-especially after reading this one. I recommend this book to all of those who enjoy NA contemporary romance novels that have a bit of steamy scenes in them.

So I finally read the first and second books so then I decided to skim this book over. But it turns out you can't just skim Cage goodness. I had to reread every word. Original review: Oh my goodness!! I want my own Cage! Or at least a boyfriend with a nipple piercing, apparently those make me a little hot... Anyway, Loved the book, that's not a surprise though since I like mostof Abbi Glines books.

I need to write about this because I really can't believe this book is getting 4 and 5 star ratings. First of all, this relationship came out of nowhere. It was dirty and not thought out. The first or second time Cage and Eva are together after their first kiss, Eva decides to lick his nipple and dry ride him in a lake. She orgasms. She climbs onto his hips, and rides him until she reaches. What a sweet relationship, everyone. I can't believe people drool over how good Cage treats Eva. Sorry, are we reading the same book here? Every time they kiss, he's groping her like she's a plaything. I was only reading the book and I felt objectified. Not to mention the vulgar language. I don't understand how Abbi Glines can go from sweet and innocent like in Breathe, worse but still YA like in Because of Low, to this. She literally describes the sex. Not like the subtle way most authors do, "We went further than we ever had, and I gave him a piece of myself I would never get back". No, she practically wrote an erotica. She wrote down the moans. Word for word, she wrote that Eva said, "Yes, yes, YES!" while getting banged against a dressing room door. Oh my god, that's so romantic, NOT. I've read 6 books by Abbi now, (Existence series and Sea Breeze series) and I still can't believe that she's been published. Her writing is something a 10th grader could have written. She has no concept of grammar whatsoever. Not to mention that she insists on all her male characters calling their girls "Sweetheart" and "baby", it's so condescending, like he's speaking to a child. Ugh.. Don't even get me started on names. She has the weirdest freaking names I've ever read. I get the distinct impression that she's trying to come up with interesting names. (Dank, Green, Krit, Cage, Gee, etc. Seriously?) Here's a few exerts for all of you thinking to read this book: She turned back to me and both of her slippery warm hands covered me and began sliding up and down my swollen dick. “Holy shit,” I groaned, letting my head fall back on the wall. Her warm mouth covered my pierced nipple and I felt my knees start to give out again. I wasn’t going to last long. Opening my eyes I watched as Eva’s tongue flicked my nipple and pulled it every few licks to suck on it. When she moved back to stare down at her hands I followed her gaze. The sight of both her small hands sliding up and down my cock sent me over the edge. - Page 258 of the PDF version Eva’s leg lifted up to wrap around my waist and she pressed up against my incredibly eager cock. Ah, hell no, she couldn’t do that. “Eva, what’re you doing sweetheart?” I asked as I closed my eyes tightly, trying hard to press my needy dick tighter against the warm V of her legs. “I wanna feel more,” she moaned as she lifted her other leg and locked her legs behind my back. Her heat pressed firmly against me now and my knees buckled at the intensity. “Ohfuck,” I muttered as Eva began rocking her hips gently. The moment she found the right fit she cried out and rocked harder. - Page 161 of the PDF version And something not completely about sex: I opened my mouth to say something and stopped when Cage lifted my left hand to his mouth and kissed my ring finger. Then his tongue darted out and just barely skimmed the top of my hand. He grinned wickedly. At some point, I’d stopped breathing. When my lungs started burning I took a deep breath and Cage let my hand fall back to my side. “Sorry, I had to take one small taste.” Then he winked at me and turned toward the door. - Page 87 of the PDF version Sorry, but, what. the. hell. If a guy decided to lick my finger, I would have a normal human response. I would be creeped out. No matter how hot a guy is, it's not acceptable to LICK a person and say you had to take a taste. SERIOUSLY. And can we count how many times Abbi has started a sentence with "Damn if." And WHY does Eva still call her dad, "Daddy". It's okay in speech, but in the narration, it's just weird. My advice if you plan on reading this book: DON'T.

Abbi Glines is a wonderful writer, and I've liked her books so far, but I just have one general concern: I really don't think all what the male population thinks is sex. In every one of her male POVs, she uses the lusty thoughts to make us believe that who is talking is indeed a dude.

There are so many things I loved about this book. Most of all, I loved that it wasn't rife with typos! Seriously though, I believe Abbi's writing has matured a lot. This felt like a complete story. There was a plot. And feelings. I pretty much adored this one. Sure, it was predictable, but I'm ok with a predictable storyline when it comes in in an interesting and well-written book with character development.

I had quite a few problems with this book, but overall, a pretty okay read. 3.5 stars.
