Abundance The Future Is Better Than You Think
Reviews

Thanks Peter. The book delves into present realities and future possibilities at the macroscopic/global level in regards to population growth, energy, water, education and freedom. The basic thesis of this book: Ideas + Technology = Solving the world's problems. As to those who may claim that terrorism/political agendas have a greater say than the two variables above, Peter would most likely rebuttal that with the story of how Eric Schmidt met Sec. Cohen. Both of them discussed the Iraqi situation in detail. Both agreed that installing fiber optic cables to allow for wireless communication as a much more efficient method of allowing the Iraqis to organize, than the method etched in history. For those looking at the present world in gloom, with daily news headlines that make you shake your head, I recommend reading this book. You'll understand that when taking a broader look at things, from a historical perspective, things are getting better.

Worse, evolution shaped the human brain to be acutely aware of all the potential dangers and thus our news media and politicians focus on the grim to capture your mindshare. This dire combination has a profound impact on human perception: It literally shuts off our abil- ity to take in good news.

Abundance is not about providing everyone on this planet with a life of luxury -rather it's about providing all with a life of possibility.
