Swing
Reviews

I received an ARC of this book from Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Give Me Books! This was a fun and light read. I loved Lincoln in the previous book, and was super excited to read about him in Swing. Let's just say I was a little disappointed. The storyline simply felt generic and unoriginal to me. Guy wants girl, girl plays hard to get, guy ends up getting girl, then loses her, and lastly wins her back for the happily ever after. I understand that this is the recipe, but it just seemed to be more flagrant in this one. It was missing some of the oomf I come to expect from Adriana's books. The intended oomf, unfortunately, fell flat. However, this does not take away from the fact that this read was fun and funny, and that I am still hopelessly in love with Lincoln. There were a panoply of baseball analogies that made me laugh, and Lincoln is such a charmer *swoons*. My favourite part of the book was the interaction between Lincoln and his father, and the thoughtful conversation they have, that portrays his father in a different way than in the previous instalment (once you get there, you will know what I mean). Happy Reading!
