August book for the Read Christie 2021 challenge but, let's be real, I was always going to need a copy of this...it's just too gorgeous to resist. That cover art! Those end-papers!

Anyway, on with the actual review: this is just the thing for a lazy summer's afternoon, a collection of a dozen cosy, clever little mysteries. Murder, theft, kidnapping, espionage, disappearances...it's all here, with some cases being solved by one or other of Christie's famous sleuths, and some being solved by regular Joes and Janes. 

I'd read about half of these before but they were good'uns so I didn't mind reading them again. I also thoroughly enjoyed the ones that were new to me. Love how Christie hides clues in plain sight.

Anyway, so clearly I need to add Poirot's Early Cases, Poirot Investigates and The Listerdale Mystery to my TBR.

Midsummer Mysteries by Agatha Christie is a book of short stories by the Queen of Crime, all around the theme of summer.  Some are set on holiday on the French Riviera, and some are set in England.

There are short stories that include Miss Marple, Poirot, Tommy and Tuppence, and other detectives. It's a fun book of stories that will take you on adventures, where the solution always has me guessing!

Agatha Christie has written many books, and they are all from the Golden Age of crime, so if you aren't familiar with her work, I highly recommend trying her out!
