This book is a page-turner. I love how the narrative is so detailed that it makes you want more. The way events develop and follow is logical and engaging.

And Then There Were None is a mystery novel by English writer Agatha Christie, widely considered her masterpiece and described by her as the most difficult of her books to write. It was first published in the United Kingdom by the Collins Crime Club on 6 November 1939, as Ten Little Niggers, after the British blackface song, which serves as a major plot point. The US edition was not released until December 1939; its American reprints and adaptations were all re-titled And Then There Were None, the last five words in the original American version of the nursery rhyme ("Ten Little Indians").

In the novel, a group of people are lured into coming to an island under different pretexts, e.g., offers of employment, to enjoy a late summer holiday, or to meet old friends. All have been complicit in the deaths of other human beings, but either escaped justice or committed an act that was not subject to legal sanction. The guests and two servants who are present are "charged" with their respective "crimes" by a gramophone recording after dinner the first night, and informed that they have been brought to the island to pay for their actions. They are the only people on the island, and cannot escape due to the distance from the mainland and the inclement weather, and gradually all ten are killed in turn, each in a manner that seems to parallel the deaths in the nursery rhyme. Nobody else seems to be left alive on the island by the time of the apparent last death. A confession, in the form of a postscript to the novel, unveils how the killings took place and who was responsible.

It is Christie's best-selling novel; with more than 100 million copies sold, it is also the world's best-selling mystery and one of the best-selling books of all time. Publications International lists the novel as the seventh best-selling title.

For my first Agatha Christie book it lived up to the hype. I had so many theories and was still nowhere close to the reveal. Looking forward to more mysteries

This was my first Agatha Christie book, and I truly became a fan. I love how Agatha doesn't simply reveal the murderer at the end - she writes a plot twist and THEN, now completely unpredictable, reveals the murderer. You really got to think outside the box if you want to guess the killer in an Agatha Christie book.

This was my first Agatha Christie book, and I truly became a fan. I love how Agatha doesn't simply reveal the murderer at the end - she writes a plot twist and THEN, now completely unpredictable, reveals the murderer. You really got to think outside the box if you want to guess the killer in an Agatha Christie book. 

A but predictable, but the twist ending was still fun! Kept me guessing for most of it! Also very much appreciated Christie’s note on the book at the beginning—helped to frame the book as more of a thought experiment than a novel.

I must have read this when I was younger because I remember bits and pieces. But nothing could prepare for that ending. The setting and characters were immersive. It’s fascinating to see how people might act under such circumstances. How the mind plays trick on us all. I also love how we are constantly questioning how and who could have done it and why. And let’s just say I’m fairly happy with the reveal! It’s fitting but surprising nonetheless.

The OG murder mystery by the Queen of Crime. Definitely a must-read because it's a classic, but not the greatest murder mystery of all time. I enjoyed the fast pacing but the ending was a bit far-fetched imo.

I think that this book was a very interesting book and I would recommend it to anyone that likes reading murder mysteries that take place in a secluded area. I also can say that I definitely was not expecting the ending per usual with  Agatha Christie book and I also think that you can really see how the times have changed since this story was written.

And There There Were None is a good mystery but the same can't be said about the book itself. I enjoyed reading the big reveal, but everything before it was lukewarm. There was an obvious lack of emphasis on the characters. Fast-pacing is a good thing since it never bores the reader, however, it is a double-edged sword. I never wanted to drop the book, but the deaths were so frequent that it never gave me time to soak in the repercussions. Furthermore, the general lack of reaction to these murders, by other characters, save shoving the body in a secluded room didn't help either. A novel of this sort should be dripping with tension, but there wasn't enough even to scrape up from the bottom of the barrel.
 
That being said, a lot of tropes and the idiosyncrasies of the writing style can be seen in their incipient stages that would be perfected for this very genre. Additionally, the writing clearly betrayed the time period of the piece, and I appreciated its distinguishable style from modern writings.

Overall, it can be a good read for someone concerned with just the mystery element, however, it is definitely not the writing style for me.

I did not see the ending coming! I love how Agatha Christie can write a book just short of 300 pages and still have created such an intense, detailed murder mystery.

This is my first A.C. book and glad I listened to everyone who suggested starting with this book.
I finished it in 24hours, I just couldn't put it down. I need to know what happen, who did it, how and why! I am such a sucker for mysteries.

I love that the book doesn't have to be very long to conclude the story and that's one great point of her writing style there. I hope that majority of her book is like this.

read this as a kid and it blew my mind away.. (pun intended)

The second book of Agatha Christie that laid on my shelf this month.. and expectedly, much better than the other one that I've read! It's about the secret agents in a little private island to guess who is the murder of all. The author created an easy-plot with different cases to solve which makes this book uniquely amazing! 

I have nothing much to say since I read it in the middle of my quite pack schedule so this book wasn't really enjoyable for me.. Like, I expected so much more or maybe my situation wasn't capable to absorb all the story into the jar. But if you love mystery detective cases with several discusssion (sorta look like a werewolf game) this book was made for you.
