Sometimes, when I'm sitting on that hill, I close my eyes and imagine the day we'll see Palestine free. I imagine how people will react when that day finally comes. I think some of us might die from elation how incredible it will feel to live with no more checkpoints or soldiers; no apartheid wall or martyrs to mourn! Our people will finally be united because the separation between the West Bank and Gaza and 1948 will cease to exist. I'll be able to love whom I want and plan for my future without the fear that I might get shot and killed and imprisoned once again.

This book follows the early years of Ahed Tamimi, as she recounts growing up in occupied Palestine. It blends her personal narrative with historical context and recent events, up to 2021. I learned so much from reading this book, and felt connected with Ahed from across the world.
