We are often unable to speak about the dead, but at the same time, unable to let them go. Perhaps it is only through talking about them, acknowledging death, that we may be able to truly move on.
This book absolutely crushed me. I love the idea that a home is alive, that it breathes and waits for you, and this book executes that concept so hauntingly beautiful that it left me emotionally devastated. ​This isn't a story about the dead haunting a house and the living, it's about how sometimes those who live will grasp onto anything to hold onto a piece of those who've passed. It's heartbreaking and beautifully poetic.
