Interesting how polarizing this volume seems. I personally liked it more than quite a few of the ones before, because it really amped up the humor while maintaining the stuff that distinguished Z from the first 16 volumes. It was actually a bit jarring, though—Goku's deal with the older Kaioshin is dirty in the same way things were in the very early days, with characters like Master Roshi and Oolong, and the Mr. Satan and boo scenes feel like the closest Toriyama made to Dr. Slump since, well, Dr. Slump—but with more murder.
