 A refreshing look into the psychology of the colonizer and the colonized. Political analysis from the first person which was meant to be specific to the french colonizer and the Tunisian colonized, ended up resonating with many colonized and colonizers. 

What phases of thought development do the colonized go through? How does he go from trying to assimilate to wanting nothing to do with the colonizer? What about the colonizer, how does he justify colonization and its exploitation? What about the "leftist" colonizer? How does he justify his existence? These are the type of questions this book tackles, of course with limitations given it is not a marxist analysis.
