I was surprised by this series. I though it was of the romance genre. It's not. That's okay too though. I think this book is more of a thriller and was more psychological than anything else. It is a bit brutal and offensive to some readers as it includes abduction and rape. It is far from a romance or erotica novel. If you are looking for a sexy romance this is not it. 

However, if you are looking for a well written, psychological thriller... you have found it. Expect some raw emotions and beware of horrible and evil a character can be. I am really impressed with Romig's ability to writer to immerse the reader into this type of psyche with such skill. 

Claire is a meteorologist who lost her job and was working in a bar. She tells this to Tony one night while at work at the bar. Then she is kidnapped and taken to Tony's mansion where she is held as a slave until she pays off her debt due to the napkin contract. Her captor is cruel and sadistic and takes away everything that means anything to her. She then has to follow rules and when the rules are broken there are severe consequences. 

I will read the other books in this series. It is a disturbing psychological thriller but it is a good series.
