wow i don’t even know where to start…..

all i can this book will break your heart and put it back together. period. 

this was a very hard read yet it’s a very important story. it relates to trauma from sexual abuse as a child, sexual assault and also life as a teenager and the view of it after been through a lot. very hard topic. pls pls read the TW first. the rawness in this book is just felt so real. it tells the story of heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. the author did great and it’s just her debut book, but the way she captures the female’s friendship so well that everyone feels familiar. every emotion and thought and sensory experience is laid bare to immerse the reader not just in the story, but the characters’ lives. 

this is very tough read for me that i sometimes stop reading it for awhile to take a breath. i enjoyed the story and the plot and the characters. this is the story where i understand more something about the abuse and how can it flip a whole person’s life upside down as well as everyone around them.

Not an easy book to read and is heartbreaking but there is some hope in there despite being a book filled with a lot of hopelessness. There is a lot of honesty in its dissection of abuse and it’s very flawed character’s that will resonate with people that need it. The writing style can be abrupt which I typically don’t love in writing but I can see why it makes this book feel more real.

Hacia tanto tiempo que no lloraba con tanta profundidad por un libro. Este lo logró. No puedo describir, lo tan conectada y visceral que me sentí con esta historia. Pudiera escribir páginas y páginas sobre lo que opino de ella, pero no le harían justicia. Simplemente daré las gracias por que existan historias tan reales como estas, tan necesarias, y esclarecedoras. Me sentí identificada con cada personaje. Fue como ver una parte de mi vida junto a mis primas a través de un velo. Este libro es un recorrido hacia lo liberador, después de habernos culpado por hechos ajenos a nosotras. Fue hermoso y catártico leerlo.

Recomiendo este libro con los ojos cerrados, no por su estructura, no por su gramática, no por sus diálogos. Sino por su verdad y su mensaje. Y a las personas que han sufrido lo mismo o algo parecido, desde lo más profundo de mi ser, desde mi propia experiencia les diré que, hay luz al final del túnel, y aunque su recorrido sea oscuro y lleno de baches y aunque el.peso de la culpa les esté consumiendo, el círculo cerrará, y será liberador y gratificante. La maldad nunca fue felicidad.
