Trophy Wife
From New York Times Bestseller Alessandra Torre... Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont. That's what happens when you develop half a town and sleep with the rest. Four years ago, his fiancee disappeared. Last night, he proposed to me. I'd wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex. Maybe I should have done my homework first.

All that glitters is not gold ... 3.5 stars The first few chapters of this gritty story ... I thought I would DNF. Wasn't sure I liked Nathan and was Candace a heroine i could root for until the end ? One page turned into the next and the tide turned. As I read I wondered about the direction of the story. What is going on? While the book is descriptive I felt I could have used more insight into Nathan. At times, I didn't understand what Candace saw in him besides his prowess. Luckily, he makes up for his crappy ways in the end. 🙂
