The Great Village Show
Witty and warm fiction from the author of The Great Christmas Knit Off. Perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley and Jenny Colgan. Tindledale is in a titter. The Loveliest Village competition is coming around again and after last year's spectacular failure, the villagers are determined to win. Beth, the local headmistress is keen to help and decides to impose some much-needed order on the squabbling committee members. When she runs into a new face in the village, she discovers that it is none other than celebrity chef, Hugo Crawford, whose London restaurant, The Fatted Calf, has won three Michelin stars. After a few terse encounters with him, Beth decides that he is brutish and rude but Lawrence, the B&B owner, thinks that Hugo is looking for a site to open a new restaurant -- one that could really put Tindledale on the map! While the committee discuss their plans in the Duck & Puddle pub, Hugo sticks his oar in and tells them what they are doing wrong. Beth still thinks that he is bad-mannered but some of his ideas are actually pretty good -- a village pop up store, a farmer's market and an allotment food bank. Soon, villagers old and new all start to come out of the woodwork, including yummy mummy Cassie, who seems to have it all. But first impressions can be deceptive and Beth discovers that when it comes to Tindledale and its inhabitants, nothing is ever quite as it seems...
