I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this book. I did not read the prequel, so I didn't have any expectations going in of what was going to happen. Lexie is a fairly normal girl, except she gets "feelings" and can both see and talk to ghosts! Her fiancé, Will, has surprised her by buying a formerly extravagant house in Maine to restore to its former glory. Turns out the house has a bit of a tragic history and Lexie is soon knee deep in ghosts and voodoo, but this story isn't just about the house...but I won't say more there, wouldn't want to spoil it! Overall, this was a great read and different from all the shifter and vampire paranormal stories overpopulating the genre these days. It was fun, exciting, and mysterious... the only drawback was, at times, the story pacing felt a little slow, but it's definitely worth the read!
