But earlier in the same decade, June Jordan's stance in solidarity with Palestinian and Lebanese people, and the Jewish and Israeli peace activists who fought against Israeli imperialism and occupation, left her blacklisted by The New York Times, where she had written reviews for years. This was a tedious read, unfortunately I did not like it at all even though I was quite excited, I should’ve looked up the writer as her research is based on ecological disruption and she wrote this biography using that lens.

She has referred to this biography as a cosmic biography but doesn’t tell us about how Audre got her love for the cosmos and the scientific metaphors mostly fell flat.

The last part of the book is just about the people Audre lorde met but it’s not clear how impactful these people were in her life, she spends a considerable amount of time on Dionne brand a writer Audre never met, but whom the biographer is clearly inspired by.

Would recommend if you want to read an experimental biography but this falls short on a clear look into Audre lorde’s life.
