Loathe to Love You
Reviews

This was the actual format I read the novellas in. Since I am reading all of this as part of a literary experiment, you best believe I will milk it for everything it has got and this edition has a bonus chapter. The bonus chapter is what you would expect from a Hazelwood bonus chapter - from the POV of the male LI and all they talk about is how whipped they are about their wives, girlfriends, etc. I understand this is a huge romantic fantasy for a lot of people and I respect that. But I also think it comes off as a little too unrealistic to me when the male characters' only personality traits are a hobby and being a big Wife Guy(tm) (we all remember the wife guy from the Try Guys, right?). Very little a man can do that I cannot so it is just a personal preference that they have a personality.
Also, for someone who writes about people in STEM, Hazelwood's work is disappointingly low on "I have a degree, I am sure I can figure this [mundane manual task] out" content.

same story, same plot and WHY DO I ALWAYS EAT THIS UP?! asking for answer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

3 cute novellas about three friends and their journeys from leaving college, adulthood and finding romance. I thought they were cute and I liked how they all connected in the end.

This was a cute set of novellas. They weren’t too long which a part of me liked because I didn’t feel as incompetent😂
Just kidding, sort of, but I like how straight to the point it all was. I will say that the stories were all sort of repetitive with one little plot shift like, being roommates, getting stuck in an elevator, and stuck in a snowstorm. Reading them back to back could make you feel that like it did for me and don’t know if there was a break in between could make a difference. I don’t know which is my favorite but I enjoyed them all!

Ali Hazelwood does it again!
No, these are by far not the best romance novellas ever written…
But DAMN! They’re adorable, spicy and oh so deliciously sweet.
A very nice breather. Good read.

Very cute three little story’s of three friends. Only realized it’s the same friends in the last one tho lol

I think this has to be my favorite books so far. Loved it, super cute and fast paced. I would love to read more about these characters!

I did enjoy these little stories, and they were such a fast read to get you in the mood and out of your slump. I did really feel and love the characters, almost as if i was there with them. And i loved it spoilers when they all met up and got along no spoilers however they did become a bit repetitive and i feel as if their story could’ve lasted longer and was cut too short and too rushed.

under one roof- 4⭐️ loved the plot and the characters chefs kiss
stuck with you- 3.5⭐️ lowkey some of the scenes gave me the ick with the fmc but still alright
below zero- 3.5⭐️ basically the same plot as stuck with you but i liked this one a little better

Felt like a fanfiction and I loved it

Nothing compares to the joy I feel reading an Ali Hazelwood book. That’s it. That’s the review.
I lied, I’m not done. Ace-spec (and demi) representation. Smart and capable women who experience real sexism in STEM workplaces. Those same smart & capable women having deep seeded insecurities & relationship hang ups.
Sure, miscommunication is a common trope, but SPOILER ALERT FOR REAL LIFE, it happens to the best of us.

These were cute, but pretty boring.
I preferred "Stuck With You" more than the others, maybe because I highly suspected it was based off of my favorite Scandinavian man, Alexander Skarsgard. I mean, it definitely had to be. The slight accent, the name Erik, and the super tall height... I was vibing.
But I was also sort of bored.

Under One Roof: Upon her death, Helena who was Mara's friend and Liam's aunt, left her house to Mara, but Liam already lived there. Now they are stuck living there...together.
Stuck with You: After a one night stand, misunderstandings cause Erik and Sadie not to see one another until they are stuck together on a stalled elevator during a power outage.
Below Zero: Ian is the only one who can save Hannah from the icy crevasse she fell into in Norway, but after the way they parted, Hannah isn't sure why Ian would come after her.
Loathe to Love You is a fun collection of three novellas featuring women in STEM. While all three are very similar, there are enough differences between the stories to make them enjoyable. The characters are all quirky and likable, while the settings are beautifully idealized versions of real world locations. I usually don't enjoy novellas, but these are quick enough with plots simple enough to fit the structure. Overall, Loathe to Love You sets the right tone, creating three entertaining reads.

This book was amazing! I was a Little confused when it was showing flashbacks because they’re not my favorite concept, but I absolutely loved every story in this book!!! Can’t wait for Love Theoretically, in June!

Thoroughly enjoyable, fun reads that feeling like hanging out with fellow nerds

Loathe To Love You is three short stories. Each story in the end wrapped up nicely.
Overall the stories needed more thought. The potential was there to make these stories amazing.
I needed time between stories before continuing to read the next one. I like it. It’s not her best work but still fun to read.
The characters are entertaining in these short stories. Do to the fast pace the characters aren’t flush out. Would have loved more depth in the characters.
Favorite lines are from Under One Roof:
Chapter 4 page 46, “Or by . . . God, what panties do I even have on? Please, let it not be the ones with Jeff Goldblum’s face Hannah got me last year.”
Chapter 5 page 56, “Yep. Because he’s from Michigan. And I went to U of M for undergrad.”
Chapter 12 page 102, “That Firefly will get the final season it deserves.”

I absolutely loved these three novellas and the characters were so loveable (my favourites were Mara and Liam though). The bonus chapter was the perfect way to finish the book.

v cute book and plot, I just wish the stories were more different? They felt like the same story and characters with different fonts

make your characters in a different font challenge

This book was amazing I loved getting to know each character involved and the bonus chapter was great besides the slight not end I need more of an ending

Loved it as everything Ali Hazelwood.

Highlights

back at the last ten years, school and work and schoolwork are pretty much all that stand out-with the notable exception of meeting Sadie and Mara, and of begrudgingly watching them cave spots for themselves in my heart. God, they take up so much room.
Mood, Hannah. Mood

When people find out that I have a Ph.D., they tend to assume that I was always an academically driven child. That I cruised through school my entire life in a constant effort to overachieve. That I did so well as a student, I decided to remain one long after lcould have booked it and freed myself from the shackles of home- work and nights spent cramming for never-ending tests. People assume, and for the most part I let them believe what they want. Caring what others think is a lot of work, and--with a handful of exceptions-I'm not a huge fan of work.
I knew I’d like her.

And a little over six months later, when I finally meet him again, I hate him.
1 hate him, I hate him, I hate him, and I don't hesitate to let him know.

"We still can," I say, maybe a bit too fast. "I'm not leaving till Thursday. Want to go out and-"
"Not get dinner, surely?" His smile is teasing.
"I remember you don't... eat with other people."

"It's a -it's a storm, lan. Are you please, tell me you're not just strolling outdoors when the worst storm of the year is just hours from starting.
"I'm not." A pause. "It's more of a brisk walk."

"Can I buy you dinner?" he asks against my lips. "Before we..?
1 shake my head. The tips of our noses brush against each
other. "No need."
"I... I'd like to, Hannah."
"Nah." I kiss him again. Once. Deep. Glorious. I don't do that'
"You don't do" -another kiss-_"what?"
"Dinner." Kiss. Again. "Well," I amend, "I do eat. But I don't do dinner dates."
lan pulls back, his expression curious. "Why no dinner dates?"
"I just.
"I shrug, wishing we were still kissing. "I don't date,
in general."
"You don't date ... at all?"

All around me there is nothing but stark, cerulean beauty, and if this is the place where I die, alone and shivering and bruised and pretty damn hungry ... well, I have no reason to bitch.
After all, blue was always my favorite color.

"Because I want you to look through it. The passcode is 1111.”
I glance at his face. "1111? Are you joking?"
"Yeah, I know. Just ignore it."
I snort. "You can't ask me that."
He sighs. "Fine. You are allowed one comment."
"How about one one one one comments-"
"That's it. Your comment, you used it up. Now-“
"Come on, I have way more to-“

Oh. That actually sounds good. But. "No croissants, though?"
"And I can make you a bagel. Cinnamon? Blueberry? Plain?"
"Is that a no on the croissants?"
Faye cocks her head with a pleased expression. "You really like my croissants, don't you?"
Do 1? "They're so, um." I clutch the strap of my fake-leather messenger bag. "Unique."
"Well, unfortunately I just gave the last one to Erik over there."

I wouldn't have fallen for an unkind man.
