genuinely have no words. i loved adam and olive so fucking much it insane. i was giggling and kicking my feet from their first interaction. you could tell from the beginning that he wanted to real date her not fake. 

he was always one of her number one supports and would have done anything to protect her. for real grumpy and sunshine trope. i loved any interaction they had, little or big. 

they are by far my favourite ali hazelwood couple. and i loved the adam POV for chapter 16. it gave so much insight on the way he saw olive and his feelings towards her. 

reread: this book was by far ten times better than when i first read it back in 2024. adam and olive are perfect for echother. that man was soooo down bad. but i really wished adam had actually killed * because what the fuck?

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s the kind of romance that makes you smile at the wall like an idiot and go “A<a target="_blank" href="http://www" rel="nofollow noopener">www</a>.” The humor between the FMC and MMC was perfectly on point, too. However, the plot was pretty predictable, and I felt like the beginning of the book moved a bit too fast.

This is my very first Ali Hazelwood book I’ve finished, and I absolutely enjoyed it! I never expected to love it so much, but the fast-paced opening chapter hooked me instantly. I also adored the fake-dating trope, one of my favourites. Ali Hazelwood captured my attention with the two main leads: Adam Carlsen, a professor, and Olive Smith, a third-year PhD candidate. Their chemistry was electric–––full of tension and definitely spicy. What I loved about their romance was that it didn’t jump straight into passion; it began so awkwardly, which I found so endearing. Adam and Olive’s relationship blossomed beautifully. I loved discovering that Adam had loved and cared for Olive all along. They’re perfect for each other–truly my grumpy x sunshine pairing. I enjoyed seeing them gradually grow comfortable with one another throughout the Love Hypothesis. Adam may be reluctant and stern at first, but he eventually warms up to Olive’s cheeky personality. Their banter was absolutely adorable! Can’t wait for the film next year!

Ogni volta che ho la certezza matematica di non essere una tipa da romance, mi convinco (o mi convincono - grazie Aurora 💗) a leggere un romanzo che mi fa innamorare di questo genere. Sì, è vero, io parto prevenuta nei confronti dei romanzi rosa, ma perdonatemi, sono cresciuta in una casa piena di Harmony (di mia madre), e quelli erano veramente da vomito. Non posso dire di essere partita con zero aspettative, perché questo libro mi è stato consigliato da un’autrice, Aurora Monteforte, che ha scritto un romance che ho AMATO (Speakeasy, lo stra stra stra consiglio), quindi possiamo già capire che avevo un minimo di aspettative…. OVVIAMENTE sono state AMPIAMENTE soddisfatte e superate!! Partiamo col fare i complimentissimi ad Ali Hazelwood che ha mantenuto un ritmo così incalzante da togliermi preziosissime ore di sonno perchè non riuscivo a smettere di leggere, posare il libro/kindle mi è stato quasi impossibile, infatti l’ho letto nel giro di 24 ore (perdoname madre por mi vida loca). Ma parliamo della ciccia vera: i personaggi! Olive secondo me è stata decisamente azzeccata: traumi pregressi che ovviamente influiscono nella sua vita di tutti i giorni ma senza appesantire troppo il lettore, ho trovato il suo personaggio molto lineare e coerente (poi è una che combina un casino dietro l’altro per coprire i casini precedenti, insomma una casinista dal cuore tenero); Adam… Avevo decisamente paura che si potesse cadere nel clichè con il suo personaggio, ma devo dire che è stato decisamente una bella sorpresa, ovviamente il grumpy del nostro grumpy vs sunshine, che poi alla fine tanto grumpy non sei, sei un po’ sfigatino come tutti noi che quando ci prendiamo una cotta piuttosto che parlare stiamo nell’ombra per mes,i se non anni, piuttosto che sembrare dei sottoni di merda e dichiarare al* dirett* interessat* i nostri sentimenti😅 Apprezzatissimi anche i personaggi secondari di Anh, Malcolm e Holden (quest’ultimo decisamente il mio prefe ❤️). Altro punto a favore di questo libro (incredibile ma vero) lo slowburn. Non credevo che lo avrei mai detto ma, raga, era stra necessario e non avrei accettato nulla di diverso!! AMO AMO AMO. Ho adorato ogni secondo di questa lettura e sicuramente leggerò altri libri di Ali Hazelwood. 100% recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved this book the only two things that put me off was the smut in this book was not it for me and started making me cringe the whole way through and two i wish Adam confessed his love to her too instead of the book just ending on olive saying i love you idk but that felt a bit anticlimactic since its told in her pov like we know you love the boy i wanna hear Adam say it (Ik he technically said he loved her during the fight with Tom) but i would have really wanted something more TLDR: good book would recommend wish there was more

Gosh, the thought that what if it was a different man and it's not himmmm?? Anyway, loved his protective side and his devotion for CONSENT (he's a good researcher because he knows this!) and yes, it's the PhD for me.

Ps. I was a bit bothered by a lot use of em dash (—) in every chapter, likee let the person finish what he's/she's saying !! 🥲

Contemporary romance. Fake dating, slow burn and spice meets STEM/Academia. A bit predictable, but an easy read for someone who likes hallmark/romcom books. Although it was a simple read. This book does a good job touching on women’s discrimination in STEM and their struggles becoming scientists. It was a fun read overall. Who doesn’t love a HEA!!

I really enjoyed the slow burn between Olive and Adam. It had some genuinely sweet moments that kept me reading but parts of the story felt a little predictable and overhyped for me. 

Still, it’s a fun, light romance when you’re in the mood for something nerdy, awkward, and a little swoony. Solid 3 stars!

finally gave in and read this, and i ended up enjoying it much more than i thought i would! i can see why this is the book that catapulted ali hazelwood to fame — so far, i think it might actually be the best out of the books i’ve read by her. it has all her standard storytelling tropes laid out in their most refined form. did not realize i was reading it at such a timely moment w the movie? series? (i can never tell lol) coming out soon, so i’ll be tuning in!
