Interesting. But why did I read this book?

People might get the wrong idea when they see you reading something about being "a gifted child" -- this isn't about getting ahead in class or anything, but a concise and revealing presentation of the many consequences of being brought up by narcissistic parents. 

It turned out to be more aimed at psychoanalysts than I'd been led to believe, but the truth this slim book holds is definitely accessible to laypeople too, though it might show its age a little bit in both how it describes the patient and how simplistically the cause and effect is presented at times. But absolutely an interesting, thought-provoking read.
