I couldn't quite believe how much I seriously loved Aled Last, even if it wasn't in the ideal way that would make it socially acceptable for us to live together until we die.

He stretched out his arm and patted me on the head. "And I'm platonically in love with you."

I just sort of want to say something before we continue. You probably think that Aled Last and I are going to fall in love or something. Since he is a boy and I am a girl. I just wanted to say - We don't. That's all.

I blinked, not quite understanding the question. "Erm, yes, obviously?"

I blinked again. “Oh. Er, I haven't thought about it." 

And realised that I didn't like him in that way at all. 

"No, I don't think so," I said. "That's a bit irrelevant, isn't it?" 

Mum frowned a little. "Irrelevant to what?" 

"I don't know, just irrelevant" I stepped past her and started trudging upstairs, saying, "What a random question."

I watched Aled, or Radio, or whoever that guy was, grasp the microphone and open his mouth, I whispered the words into the air while he roared them into the crowd.

"Hello, I hope somebody is listening ..."

I cared about him. And he cared about me.

After a moment I could hear Aled running too, and I glanced behind me and stretched out my arm to him and cried, "Come along!" and he did; he reached out and took my hand and we ran like that through the countryside in the rain, and then he laughed, and it reminded me of a child's laugh and I wished people could always laugh and run like that.

"You are. And I'm platonically in love with you."

Aled slowly took the sketchbook out of my hands. He gazed at it for a moment, and then said, "Your art is so beautiful."

Because it hit me then what he'd done for me. He'd got up in the middle of the night, in his pyjamas, climbed out of the window of his bedroom to come and help me with one topic of a maths exam.

I had work to do when I got home. I almost always had work to do when I got home. I almost always did work when I got home because whenever I wasn’t doing schoolwork I felt like I was wasting my time.

Sometimes I felt like that was all I ever talked about. Being clever was, after all, my primary source of self-esteem. I’m a very sad person, in all senses of the word, but at least I was going to get into university.

Radio Silence is the perfect book for students who are stressed about school, what comes after, and various other societal pressures forced onto students. Whilst the pacing at the beginning of the book was a bit slow, I could not stop reading by the half way point, there is something magnetic about the characters and this story.

at the time i thought the book was good but looking back back i found the characters annoying at times and some scenes just bad however it still had its good moments

I think it's fine. It's not everything, and it's not bad it's just mediocre. I think the character's pretty relatable, I wouldn't really push you to read it

This book was too good. It was supposed to be my commute book for the next two weeks, but I couldn't put it down and had to finish reading after I arrived home. 

I think it's safe to say I love Alice Osemans way of writing. Once again she wrote the characters amazingly. It felt like I knew them in real life and I could understand all their actions. 

The best part of the book was the lack of need for a dramatic romantic love story, instead delivering a platonic lovestory. 

I loved how casually the AroAce Spectrum was represented and how no one judged the characters for it.

I would love to read more about Aled, Frances and the others and will now probably fall into a book hangover, because it will be hard to match the energy of this book.
