i've been following MHN on instagram for probably a year or two now, and her posts are always a highlight on my feed. super excited to learn she had a book coming out, and truly it was even more wonderful than i expected it to be. her poetry and art is so prolific i'm sort of reeling wondering how someone can have AND be such a wellspring of inspiration. this book is broken up into sections, for the heart, mind, body, and soul, and at first i was tabbing all my favorite pages before i realized i was essentially tabbing the whole book. i'm so glad i bought this and will be reaching for it anytime i need inspiration or even just some self care.

If you don't like poetry then this will not be to your taste. Now for those that are poem - friendly, this collection will speak to you in parts. It is essentially a retelling of people's stories told to the author, in a permissive and positive prose. She essentially made the feelings in their stories more relatable and known than just anonymous person X and shares her own hopeful/helpful thoughts in regards. Like me, you'll find some good mantras and also understanding that is often difficult when self-reflecting. The illustrations are calming and aesthetically pleasing which fits the vibe of this compilation. Recommend for those going through heavy stretches of mental, physical, emotional and/or spiritual concerns but also for those that just need a reminder that whatever and however you feel is okay.
