Worst book of the trilogy in my opinion. Had a hard time getting into this story and just wasn't very exciting. Really felt like a let down.

As with the previous two books, I found the chapters written from Eliza's point of view the most engaging. Throughout the author seems to have had a clearer sense of what she might have been thinking and feeling. I honestly wish that the three volumes were cut down to one slightly long one focusing only on Eliza's half of the story.

I recommend this series for any Hamilton Fan. This third and final book was the best one yet I would say.

The characters in this book are flawed so they feel like real people. I loved Eliza and she has always been my favorite character. This book has a new character named Emma Trask, and she is another great character. 

Plot 5/5

We find out about the affair between Alexander Hamilton and Maria Reynolds in this book. Without spoiling the plot, I love knowing what happened from another author's point of view. The other base plot is the Hamilton family and I really enjoyed this as well. 

Pace 5/5

The pace of this book is steady. At no point does it feel the scenes are too fast or too slow.

I really enjoyed the last of the Alex and Eliza trilogy, and the trilogy as a whole. The last installation of the trilogy has a decent amount of suspense, even if you are familiar with the history of Alexander Hamilton, the Reynolds Pamphlet, and his affair. The romance was also enjoyable but not too surprising. This trilogy has definitely inspired me to read more Alexander Hamilton, and most definitely more Eliza Schuyler Hamilton books!

This series was so stupid. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Melissa de la Cruz should write historical fiction flat out, not this weird fanfic. I don't understand why she put Alexander and Eliza Hamilton in this story when it really was very historically inaccurate. The true story of the Hamilton's is a lot more interesting and juicier than this. It would have been much better if she'd created her own early Americans.
This was bad, historical inaccuracies aside. The "rivalry" between Burr and Hamilton was underdeveloped and it was so weird when the duel was brought up. There were mentions of Hamilton as the Secretary of the Treasury throughout the series, but we only see him in the role for 2 paragraphs in the epilogue. Alexander and Washington giving each other longing looks as they pass each other in the streets? Stupid! The epilogue also features a creepy scene of Eliza and Angelica watching Alexander sleep. Literally, why? So creepy. And don't even get me started about that fiasco of a wedding in the last chapter. 
The trees did not deserve this.

A nice conclusion to the trilogy about Alex and Eliza Hamilton. I loved the addition of fictional characters, Emma Trask and Dayton Pennington because they added a necessary dimension to the story.
