4.5 stars. After a lot of doubting I decided to rate it 5 stars instead of four stars, because I really did enjoy it. This book started out in a perfect way, and it promised to be a cosy read, one that I might reread year after year. It definitely didn't disappoint, although this novel spreads out over one year, from one Christmas to the next. I must admit that I prefer cosy Christmas stories to take place over one Christmas, and the month leading up to it, not over summer as well. Other than that, I really loved it.

This book is a perfect Christmas novel. Easy to read, incredibly funny and with a happy ending. This is the story of Nick, a high flying London based lawyer who loses his job and hits rock bottom. As a last resort, he agrees to work as a Santa in a shopping centre. Here he meets Alfie, a 4 year old whose only Christmas wish is to see his mum happy again. Unwittingly, Nick promises that his wish will come true. What can Nick do now? Stay our and crush the cute little boy's hopes, or get involved and play cupid. Read and find out. Loved this story.
