While I thoroughly enjoyed Alton's commentary on his recipes (especially the footnotes) and the photos, I really expected more recipes I could easily do at home from a book called "EveryDayCook." 

The recipes in this book, while delicious looking, are more of what Alton would cook as an every day meal vs. what many can cook in their kitchen today. Living in the Midwest, I don't have access to many of the ingredients listed in some of his recipes (or at least, not easily). 

There are a few recipes in here though that I am looking forward to trying and have saved in a notebook to cook soon. (Among those would be the Chicken Parmesan Meatballs and the Oven Baked French Fries.) 

That being said, this book was a great introduction for me to Alton Brown and I look forward to reading more of his cookbooks as well as checking out his television shows.
