Deal With a Demon

I didn’t love Kalli. The situation that occurred near the beginning with her taking off the blindfold during their fun time left a bad taste in my mouth that stayed with me for the rest of the book. She was in the wrong, even though I can understand how Rins reaction was over the top and mean from her side. She was in the wrong and should have apologized. She is being paid to do a job and part of that job was wearing a blindfold to make sure her partner was comfortable, and she went against her partner/employers  wishes just for her own pleasure/curiosity. She should have atleast given Rin a warning she was taking it off. THAN SHE HAS THE AUDACITY TO BE MAD AT RIN!!!!!!!! They had an agreement and Kalli broke it, than played the victim. Girl no. And than he begs for forgiveness and when they go back to the OG arrangement her entire POV is just her complaining!!! i understand the blindfold coming off later is used to move the plot forward but why did she freak out when she saw his real face, like GIRL WHAT WERE U EXPECTING?!?!?!?! I love rooting for flawed FMCs, I support womens wrongs, and I cheer during delusional tail spins but I just couldn’t get behind Kalli for some reason.

My second thing is a personal opinion and it may just be a me issue so I apologize if you disagree. This might be an ick I had with the author, I don’t like when a curvy character (especially the FMC) wears the 1950s/pin up style. Especially when they are supposed to be considered stylish. Like I get it, it’s a flattering look!!! I feel like every girl with a fuller figure went through this phase. But it’s not stylish, if that’s what your into that’s fine, I know style is personal. My issue is that 1950s style looks on curvy girls isn’t revolutionary and writing curvy characters who are supposed to be fashion designer/stylists/trend setters wearing this comes across as lazy.

And another thing! Her date that she planned for the two of them was so self oriented, she even admits he doesn’t really like human food. THAN WHY ARE YOU GOING ON A PICNIC!!!!!There are so many other things you can do!!!!!

Okay this is my last complaint I promise! The fight about Rin  buying her a fashion house!!!!!! I don’t even want to get into it!!!!! But god!!!!!! If your gonna spend an entire book complaining about you job and hoping for your dream career and your handed it on a silver platter why are you upset and mad at someone who wants to help you!!!!! Like I understand it wasn’t exactly what she wanted,but she could have talked to Rin and explained what she really wanted opposed to getting upset with him. And so many designers work under fashion houses and thats how they become known!!!!

These are just a few examples of when Kalli pissed me off. She would complain about things and when Rin would try to fix them (maybe not in the best way) she would be mad and she would be painted as the victim/in the right.

Every single issue in this book made Rin out to be the problem when it was Kalli. Rin wasn’t perfect but he wasn’t the bad guy it was Kalli.

And finally even though I wasn’t on her side she forgives Rin so easily!!! Like if your gonna have these outlandish principles atleast stick by them!!!!!!
