i devoured this in a day. i loved it so much, from page one.

my issue with book one was the pacing of the relationship and the pacing in this one was so much better. salem and cassian developed so much together and it was so beautiful to read about. seeing how salem was king of ignored at them beginning and how cassian immediately made it his goal to keep her in the loop and make sure she was a part of everything was one of my favourite things ever. 

salem honestly has my heart, she was an absolute badass with such an amazing personality and reading about a female character you love honestly makes everything better.

cassian? don’t even get me started. the way he cared for salem and paid attention to all the things she did just to make her feel comfortable was so heartwarming. i loved seeing his development from book one was so good and seeing him progress as a character. 

along with the plot being intriguing enough to carry me through without me getting bored, side characters like devin and his family were so fun to read about. 

i’d give this a solid 4.2 stars and i can’t wait to continue salem and cassian’s journey in the final book.
