Broken Puppet - Elite Kings Club

Genesis (@whisperingchapters)

“They used me as their puppet. Now I’m broken.”

“You never put me back together properly. You steal parts of me, so when you do put me back, I’m all crooked, cracked, and still visibly broken.”

“Trust no one. Fear no one. Fuck everyone,” I whisper to myself, pushing my long hair away from my face.

“Fear is your patch, babe. We all have our patches. Those little spaces that could bring us to our knees if dabbled with.”

He came into my bathroom like a tornado, leaving a massacre of feelings behind.

Gotta love a badass fmc with a psychotic mmc

I stretch my neck. “Do that again, and I’ll knee you in the nuts, grab my .45, and shoot your fucking hand clean off.”

Bishop smirks, his tongue running over his bottom lip. “You do that…” His eyes dance in mischief—black magic kind of mischief. “… and I’ll wash your hair with my blood while you choke on my dick.”

Why do both our hormones have to feed on hate? I’m fucked.

"Everything that has to do with the Kings, Madison, goes through me. Everything to do with you also happens to go through me. So whether you like it or not, you go through me. So you may as well do it on your hands and knees with your ass in the air like a good little kitty," he hisses through a smug grin.

When you fall for the devil, make sure you don’t land facedown with his horns stabbed through your heart.

When did I become such a girl? I make a mental note to check the dates, because I must be due for Mother Nature’s visit. There’s no way I’m this much of a pussy-ass bitch.

"You steal some of my soul every time you do that thing with your eyes."

“I’d never fucking share you. Period. Yes, we fuck around a bit, but the boys know there’s a line when it comes to you, and if any of them cross it, I have no problem being a King short.”

“I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong.”

The Silver Swan
- 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
-2. Madison Montgomery.

I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.

Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.

WARNING: This review has a lot of cursing in it!

There is so much for me to process about this book. I've been trying to collect my thoughts and I still don't know what to think. The only thing I do know is that my heart really hurts for Madison. I feel so incredibly bad for her and everything she has gone through so far. The kings are putting her through hell and I don't know how she deals with them. Especially Bishop. And as much as I really despise each of them, I really am starting to love them too.

“You steal parts of me, so when you do put me back, I’m all crooked, cracked, and still visibly broken.”

One of the main reasons why I love reading books by Amo Jones is because one it's dark romance. And with dark romance I think all the normal “rules” for romance go out of the window. Anything is game. And that's exactly what Amo Jones does. She fucks with your mind and heart. These kids, yes KIDS, have no chill and do WHATEVER they want. I kept forgetting I was reading about high school seniors.

I don't know how she does it and I should just stop questioning it, but everytime I read a book by Amo, she somehow gets me sucked right into the story and all of the characters. Since this book has many side characters, sometimes it's hard to keep up with what's going on. But so far I’m really enjoy meeting and learning more about all of them. They are so interesting in their own fucked up way. Amo Jones just has these magical powers over my mind. I guess I just love reallllllly fucked up characters.

Overall, I am obsessed with this book and series so far. I honestly thought that it couldn't get any more crazy, and after reading this book, my mind is blown. It’s like I keep getting whiplash. Do I think this book is perfect and has no flaws in it, no absolutely not. This book and series is so flawed and is very unrealistic, but that's what I love about it and I just can't seem to get enough. It’s a solid read to get lost into a crazy world, with crazy kids and a fucked up story.

You must read The Silver Swan by Amo Jones first before reading this book.

I don't know if I'm dumb or if this book is just filled with too many big holes in the storyline. The main character is so stupid, not even naïve just plain stupid. Like read the damn book and figure it out, but no. Also she wants sex with everyone, like girl... the writing also has just many errors in it

Literally nothing happens?????? DNF at 67% such a waste of time!

Amo's writing is a drug, I swear. I definitely prefer her writing from her newest releases, but I get why the EKC world is a favorite of many. It's filled to the brim with twists, turns, crazy and unbelievable revelations; it's on the messy side, but that's what makes it so unique and addicting.

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.

Oh. My. God. What did I just read? Seriously, I have no idea! I love this book, even though I want to hate it because it raised more questions than it answered. And my god, the stuff that happens! Strap yourselves in and go for a ride 'cause it's one for sure!
There is so much happening in this book and I'm still not entirely sure I caught all of it, all I know is Bishop is incredible and Maddy is bad arse!
I would definitely recommend rereading The Silver Swan before reading this so everything is fresh, but again, run, don't walk to get this book! The next one can't come soon enough!
Reviewed for 2 Rs blog.

Edited 2019.
So I reread this book so it’s fresh for Malum’s release. I’m sorry to say it doesn’t get better a second time around. The editing is all over the place. There’s a lot of instances where one thing will be said, only for a couple of chapters later, it to be contradicted.
Also, the constant mention of songs, you don’t have to be hip, scalding hot showers, and “beeping” open cars really does grate.
Still, I enjoy the concept of this series, and will continue to read it.

Ima keep this short so I can literally keep binging this series and not let me my mind over think ANYTHING. You know why? This ball is in Amo’s court. There’s no point in figuring out her plot lines. You won’t. Just when you think you’re safe you’re not.

We get a good amount of information in this second book but the more you learn the more you question. It element of intrigue with the Elite Kings rises higher with every truth. I’m a big fan of secret society storylines, this one is reminding me why.

You’re left in the dark for a reason and in doing so I’m experiencing every raw emotion as Madison does. I literally clutched my wine glass for the last 25% of this book. The Broken Puppet is delectably deviant in every way that I desired and few others I didn’t even know I needed.

celeste

okay i'm done with this series. literally nothing happens in this book, the entirety of it is about the h being treated like a fucking doormat by all the guys and her not doing a single thing about it. there were no fucking answers about anything until the last chapter with two somewhat of reveals that were honestly trash. like was this book written while high cause nothing in this damn thing made fucking sense whatsoever. i can't be bothered with the rest of the books anymore.
