In Peace Lies Havoc

Amo Jones2020
My name is Dove Hendry.Mine is Kingston Axton.I was captured by darkness. She has always been ours...They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control. She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn't know it yet...But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.A culture that she is about to become the center of.The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they're not happy about me being hustled into their acts.Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason...Mind-tricks.Stunts.Deceit.Power.But there's something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I'd hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.And maybe lived under your bed...When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded. His whispers were silenced. His shadow dissolving without a trace.I wondered why that was.She didn't have to wonder for long...

This book. This author. I have no words and have no clue where to star this review. Honestly this book had me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to put it down for a second, you can even ask my husband!! Our main characters Dove and Kingston made my heart melt. In a loving kind of fucked up way. Dove is strong and fierce heroine. I loved the bits and pieces that we were given from her past to help us understand her present. I think she might be one of my favorite heroines of the year. King, my God, King is such a devil. He has this charm about him that I just didn’t want to stay away from even though I knew I should, but I LOVED him along with his brothers, Killian, Kyrin and Keaton. Dove and King have such great chemistry, I could feel it just off the pages. What a wild ride this was. I was entranced from the first page. This is a very dark romance read and I would steer clear if these types of Romance books are not your forte. But if they are, I say that you need to read this! I honestly don’t know how Amo Jones does it. Overall, it has a great level of angst, the storyline was addictive, it had a unique plot line that kept me guessing the entire time, it has an awesome and unique setting and was a complete mindfuck. I am excited to read more from this series! Definite ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ star read! I received this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

the first book that i read only in a day since months — safe to say, it's the one that helps me out of my reading slump.

i really love the concept, the uneasy feeling that amo made me; especially when she makes us think that one of the brothers is raping her.. it makes me feel.. confused about how to feel about the brothers.

i love how perse and king's relationship immediately clicked after the reveal, it's like a magnet; a relief that the pent up tension us finally justified.

this book made me want to explore amo's works more!

Stars: 4 Spice: 3.5 MF | Book 1 of Midnight Mayhem Series | Triggers: Violence, murder, kidnapping, sexual assault You'd think that having read a number of Amo's books already, I'd be used to the mindf*ck. But nope! This is a wild ride, and I loved every minute! When Dove is young, her parents are m*rdered. She's not sure by who, but the man she names The Shadow continues to follow her over the years. Then one day she is kidnapped and forced to join the mysterious Midnight Mayhem circus. This isn't your traditional circus.. and I'll leave the rest of the details for you to read. Dove meets Kingston, or King, and is drawn to him even though he pushes her away and treats her horribly. She's not sure why, but he has reasons he's not willing to share. Their attraction builds despite all of that. When life shattering truths are revealed, where will that leave Dove and King? I went into this pretty blind, so I didn't realize this would be a series with only one book for each couple. So I was surprised when I was getting to the end and their story was wrapping up. I kind of wanted more from these two! I really love this world that Amo has built, and I'm excited to read Killian's story next.

“Welcome to Midnight Mayem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity…” This is a re-read for me, but from before I started on IG so I’m going to give my review now. Amo has a way of keeping you so absolutely confused until the last possible second and I am here for it! This book is centered around King and Dove. Dove was taken, kept for a week with no idea what was going on. Only to emerge and be throw into the deep end with the brothers. King, he’s her tormentor. His family has given him a job and he plans on following through. Every single character in this book is amazing, you fall in love with the side characters well before you get to read their books 😜

Welcome to Midnight Mayem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity… CW= language, rape, drug use, sexual content HOLY HOT CIRUS DREAMS WHAT JUST HAPPENED. Yes this is full of late night fun, a tent full of lights and acrobats to watch in awe. No this is not the greatest showman... this is what the writers dreamed about but Disney absolutely could not produce. Dove- Orphaned as a child, a ballet dancer now stripping with her skillset just to make ends meet with a dream and no college degree. Until she's kidnapped and held hostage by 4 masked men. What do they want? They've recruited her to be the next act in their show... or so it seems. Kingston- leader of The Brothers, F*** boy, and the strongest member of the Midnight Mahem performance. No matter how magnetism that pulls him to Dove... his loyalty lies with his family.... and he has a mission... it just might end in him killing the girl he can't stay away from. Eye contact is the language that no one can speak, but chemistry is fluent with; it’s the language of fate. It’s two souls catching on fire without a single word being spoken. This dark romance was INTENSE! I legit couldn't stop reading. Eating? Reading. Potty? Reading. Sleeping? Mad because I want to be reading. King is what your dark dreams are made of.... and I mean DARK. (borderline insane) He’s everything you were instilled to fear as a little girl. He’s your father’s worst nightmare and your mother’s wet dream. What I loved about it: - the unique concept for a story -the characters were sinister and addicted -I LOVED the songs that she picked for the book. I actually found myself turning on the songs in Spotify to better appreciate the moment and WOW it was a cool experience. I felt like I was really watching Dove dance. -the romance is FULLL FORCE AND VIOLENT Why I dropped a star: while I LOVED the concept, character and story as a whole I felt like the pacing dropped a bit towards the end as it went into family drama. I honestly just wanted to stay under the lights with the characters so it left the BIG moment feeling rather... inconvenient. Rating: story- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ pace-⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 character-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (all consuming) romance- enemies to aggressive lovers steam- "this show for sure rated R... I mean I thought burlesque was scandalous" Song 🎼 Love is Madness By Thirty Seconds to Mars

me while reading this book this is the third book that i read by this author and i genuinely would love for someone who gave this four or even five stars to please explain to me how you were able to make any sense of this book because i cannot for the life of me follow amo jones' train of thought. the same thing happened to me with her other books. maybe it's me and my two braincells that aren't enough to understand amo's mind, but goddamn sis be writing these books as if she were under the influence because of how random her characters' actions are and how utterly ridiculous everything always is. heroine gets kidnapped? meh no biggie heroine gets sexually abused while kidnapped? meh also no biggie heroine gets thrown into a carnival/circus where she has to perform live orgies with a group of four dudes? yeah totally fine my dudes heroine gets given a black card to buy herself anything she wants and doesn't even once think about escaping? sure jan the characters actions made no fucking sense! nothing that they went through and the follow-up behavior was believable, especially the heroine's, as i've previously mentioned. the hero is all hot and cold towards the heroine because of some "secret reason" and is always sending off mixed signals with the way that he treats her. did i believe their sexual tension and connection? nah, not one bit. finally after the 70% mark, we are given answers as to the four brothers' cryptic behavior when it comes to dove and......they were satisfying, up to a point. were they still ridiculous? yeah, but at this point i think i can't expect anything different from amo jones. and then she throws in witchcraft, and slavic mythology, and mental powers and i was like aight this is too much amo jones you need to cut back on whatever it is you're taking cause shit's not making any sense. after all this, am i still gonna suffer through the second book just to get to the third one which features the brooding, stand-offish cold-hearted brother with psychotic tendencies i only cared about? you bet your ass i will.

The Kiznitch Brothers are the Shiznitch! Okay, jokes aside, this book held me captive from the very first page until the very last. The fact that Amo Jones is able to pull me in so completely and literally entrance me blows my mind. Everything is just so VIVID. In true Jones fashion, this book will play tricks on your mind. It will distort reality and destroy all your bearings. It is not for nothing that she is the Queen of mind-fudge. Dove and King are something special, unique, raw. There is a softness and a contradictory hardness to them. The world they are in is unique and fantastic. Jones is a master at world-building and creating secret worlds and societies. She never ceases to blow me away. Now run and get your ticket to Midnight Mayhem! You won’t regret it!

What is sleep? I stayed up almost all night to finish reading In Peace Lies Havoc because I couldn’t put it down. Jones deftly wove a story full of lies and deception that had me constantly trying to unravel just what the heck was actually going on. Music was such a key aspect to the story and I definitely got an amazing playlist out of it that I’m excited for.
