Sicko

Amo Jones2020
"He was my foster brother. He swore to protect me. He failed. They all failed. I'm an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I'm the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left four years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain. But he has come back. He's not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love. He's the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn't answer to Royce Kane anymore. He answers to Sicko."--Back cover.

Holy Moly!! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to read this book and it was SO WORTH THE WAIT. I honestly think that this is some of Amo’s BEST work yet. She touches on a lot of hard subjects and taboo material that most authors stray away from, even in the dark romance realm. I love that she is always pushing the limits and with this one the limits are pushed to the edge. She does it in a way that you’re saying WTF, but also seeing what beauty and light could come out of something so dark and treacherous. Royce is a force to be reckoned with and someone you do not want to cross. He’s your typical Amo alpha male who takes over what he wants and when he wants it. Jade is hands-down my favorite Amo heroine, period. She is put through absolute hell and comes out as this strong, thoughtful and compassionate woman. These two have such a strong connection to one another. No matter what they do from children all the way up to adults, they just can’t seem to get enough of one another. I so wish that this book was not a standalone. My only gripe about this book is that the end was too quick for me. I felt like the beginning part of the book explaining the situation, Royce and Jade’s dynamic, and everything in between is a great piece but then towards the end it felt very rushed. I know Amo Jones said that this book was just gonna be a standalone but this would’ve been a great series with just Royce and Jade. Not only that there’s so many side characters that I want to know the stories about. I hope in the future that she also writes about them too. I would love to get a whole Wolfpack MC series that would be awesome. I WANT MORE. This book is by no means for every person. There are going to be people who love dark romance that will not like this book. It’s A LOT. I mean Amo Jones puts in a trigger warning in the beginning of the book, which she never does. It’s a touchy subject, very taboo, and this is just not for everybody. If you don’t like dark romance or are a little iffy about reading this I would definitely consider thinking things through before you read this book. Because even for me who loves dark romance, I had to pause and center myself quite a few times while reading. It definitely pushes some of my limits but overall I loved the story and the characters. If you have it within you to read something very questionable but you're able to read it with an open mind, this is probably going to be a book that you are really going to like. If you were looking for a book that will push your limits to the absolute max, and then bring it back down to a palatable level, this is definitely something you should read! Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

plot got murky at times (but i think the amount of people introduced in MC books just confuses me) and wish there’d been more romance; like there was a lot of build up but not a lot with them together

I was in love with the life they had before but then it turned into the predictive bad boy with tattoos and I thought I liked it but turns out I don't.

Sicko by Amo Jones is not like any other romance you’ll read. As an avid dark romance reader it takes a lot to shock me, it takes a lot to make me question my own theories. This book did that and more. These characters will sink past your skin and resonate in your bones. They’ll grab a piece of your soul, suck you into their world and refuse to let you go. Royce Kane will quickly rise to your top as a favorite antihero. He’s possessive, protective, filthy and psychotic. Literal MC alpha perfection. Jade Kane is one of the fiercest heroines I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. She is a brilliantly strong woman that is capable of anything. She ingests her darkness, revels in it then twists it into her own special light. The connection between Royce and Jade is irrefutable. Although the men may be “in charge” the women in this book... they are everything. Whatever you think you’re about to get when you start devouring these pages, just throw it out the window. I thought this was going to just be a really dirty, forbidden love story and I couldn’t have been more wrong. There were times while reading that I literally thought I was nuts then the ball drops. The amount of power these characters posses in the end is the electric shock straight to your heart that’s needed to bring it back to life after Amo has stopped its beating. Strap on your helmet and prepare yourself for one of the best literary rides you’ll go on this year.

4/5 Loved It I know Sicko by Amo Jones is about Royce and Jade but she writes some of the best secondary characters and Wicked is one of them. Royce and Jade love them. Their story is dark, twisted and unpredictable. Royce, The Vice President of Wolf Pack MC is overprotective of Jade. Their Romance is slow burn, amazing banter and just enough angst. The club business was a good amount for me. Never seen those twist and turns so good.

This was one of the sickest fucking books I’ve read, it truly made my brain hurt. I don’t think I can fully wrap my head around everything that transpired bc I have so many questions?? It was a good read like a very good read I literally didn’t take any breaks it was so intense and suspenseful my anxiety was kicking my ass the entire way through this book. If it’s one thing Amo can write her damn ass off & this is my first book I’ve read by her so I can’t imagine what else is in store. I feel like this should have been a series though. I want to give it 5 stars but there’s something missing and I can’t figure out just what it is so I’m gonna settle with 3.5
