I've had this on my shelves for so long, and I finally decided to pick it up. I liked it, but at the same time, it was very meh. The book isn't that long, but it felt like it took forever to end. I think that mainly had to do with the fact that there's too much going on. Bennett crams so many plotlines into the story, so it feels too cluttered. If she cut a few out, it would've flowed better and given the story more room to breathe. I did enjoy the characters and the relationship between Artemis and Dominic. The relationship between Artemis and Celeste was also sweet. Overall, it was fine, and I'm interested enough to continue with the series.

Up All Night with a Good Duke is the first book in the "Byronic Book Club" series. This is the current series that this author is writing in which is about three women that are friends with each other and help each other in their motivations. I was first introduced to this author when I discovered the second book "Curled Up with an Earl" which is Lucy's book. In this installment we have Artemis and Dominic's story. We got to see them in Lucy's story and I just wanted their book so badly because you could tell how "together" this couple is. I think what I am discovering about this author is how "Utterly Charming" her writing style. There is something about Amy Rose Bennett that just works so well for me here.

Up All Night with a Good Duke is a story about our heroine, Artemis, who while working in a girl's finishing school, is called away by a letter by her friend to help with her navigating the London Season. So Artemis leaves and heads to London but on her journey she bumps into a stranger with whom she has a sizzling connection with and she would later discover that he is the Duke of Dartmoor. Dominic, is a widower and a single father of a teenager and he is at his wits ends in trying to figure out how to handle her. Dominic and Artemis come to a agreement that ends up in a fake marriage of convenience, but soon it becomes apparent that there is much more emotion building between them they just mere sexual attraction ....

Up All Night with a Good Duke was such a superb read and I had so much fun with this one here. I just couldn't seem to get enough of it. I was so endeared by this story. Now while reading this one I was distracted by some other things, so I wasn't fully focused on the story which probably contributed to my 4 star rating, but it was still such a charming read. And the writing style just had me so reminiscent of the classic style of HR. Even though the characters do seem a bit more modern at times, its not overblown at all and the way that they take accountability for their actions and try to communicate honestly and treat each other so decently has such a healthy perspective that is refreshing and I call on HR authors everywhere to follow this author and authors like Elisa Braden. If you are fans of Elisa Braden, I do think that you will really enjoy this one here.

If you are wanting more steam in your historical's then I definitely think this is an author you should look into. The way that she handles steam in her stories are very open and fun and sexy. I was so delighted every time our couple come together. Amy Rose Bennett definitely delivered such a solid romance that was packed with so much heart and smexy times to satisfy any romance reader!

Not me absolutely adoring this Duke and Dutchess story, y'all! 🥹

I bought this book on a whim, and I am now hooked on Dominic Winters (Duke of Dartmoor) and Artemis Jones! This Duke rom-com genre is so good; someone stop me, pls. 😭

While A GOOD DUKE is a less overtly smutty novel, it possesses a refreshing feminist narrative with Artemis that I found extremely enjoyable. 😭💖

Aiming to open her very own women's college, Artemis uses her Season to find a sponsor; however, along the way she meets Dominic, a handsome Duke who has recently resurfaced following years of negative publicity. The publicity is a result of the question of whether or not he murdered his wife. As Dominic battles with his teenage daughters' newfound fascination with Gothic literature, he proves to be the perfect match for Artemis. Like Artemis, he initially disliked it, but later came to love it. 😍

This novel has a wonderful prose style that is quick, tasteful, and very well-written; reading the interwoven narratives was engaging and delightful. It was particularly moving to see Dominic's loneliness and Artemis' desire for independence and love and how those paired together. There is no miscommunication between Artemis and Dominic throughout UP ALL NIGHT, and it was refreshing that the novel did not contain a cliché climax. This was a courtship based on the same motives. 👏🏾

Dominic is a beautiful man, regardless of whether or not he is a murderer at this point. (Y'all say what you want about toxic tropes, but y'all have no fun? I can enjoy a fictional "kind of" murderer, it's not real??? I am not looking for that in real life, FYI. It is just hot in literature.) 🙄😅

The nice smutty scenes we do encounter are quite enjoyable; a particularly poignant example of this is Artemis' sexually explicit behavior and her expressions of desire for Dominic. Female characters who express their attraction are my favorite. 🍆

UP ALL NIGHT WITH A GOOD DUKE was a charming little gothic romance. 🥰

This book was so much fun, seeing both of them open their hearts to other warmed my heart. Also seeing the relationship grow between Artemis and Celeste was cute.

I loved this book! The characters are interesting, the plot is fun, and I loved the conniving governess. I can’t wait for the next two books in the series. I’m sure they’re at least two more for reasons that will be obvious when you read this one. 

I would have loved a bit more about her friends in this book and I hope the author makes sure to show us their dynamic and relationships with one another instead of just having us know that they are close. In this book, they do a lot for her, but we don’t know much about their pasts together.
