TJ & Dave understand the craft of improv possibly more deeply than anyone else alive. After watching their recorded performances on Vimeo over and over, I had to read this book, and I’m so glad I did. This book reveals that there’s no magic in what they do onstage. Listening is all there is. And the way their improvisation works and feels so magical is just a result of that paying attention and reacting honestly. They just do the next little thing for 50 minutes and the wonder is an emergent property of that work. Some people might think they’re lying or holding back, it not me. I trust them that this was all made up.
