I did this as an audiobook, which was well done. The podcast portions were presented sounding like a podcast so it made it fun and captivating. The story was somewhat predictable even in its ups and downs. I don't think I would have had the patience to sit and read it but listening to it was relatively entertaining.

This is actually the perfect book to read on a plane when on a lot of Xanax because instead of thinking about how you're in a metal tube made by boeing that could plunge into the ocean at any moment you'll just be really angry at the bad writing and bizarre plot choices

My sister read this first for her book club and offered it to me to take home to read when I stayed with her for a few days. Instead, I read it over the course of 3 days! The fact that I couldn’t put it down probably bumped it up a half star, because as some have mentioned, the ending/biggest mystery isn’t quite as shocking as it could be? But the whole time I kept going to my sister and saying, ok now I’m really suspicious of THIS person, and she would smile knowingly and say she was too. And, other things are certainly surprising. 

The dark humor is great, the learning what happens along with our narrator was also great. I don’t know that I’d rush to read it again but I would def recommend it to someone who likes a quick read or a lil spicy mystery moment. Truly hope they don’t make a film/tv adaptation.

I wish there were more clues embedded in the narrative so that we could do our own investigation of the crime, but considering this was from Lucy’s POV, it makes sense that we only know what she knows. There’s not much to add that won’t give spoilers, so I’ll just say this was fun and a good break from my more intense reads.

Interesting who-done-it. The main character is morally ambiguous in a like able way! The ending wasn’t as satisfying as I would have wished, but enjoyable!

Loved the pacing of this book; and the relationship with her grandmother. Emmett is such an interesting character, “the one you should’ve been with” but all of his actions are backhanded and her attraction to him isn’t real.

is a fresh take on the whodunit genre, offering a unique perspective through the eyes of our prime suspect protagonist. I really enjoy the dark humor sprinkled throughout what could have been just another thriller. The narrative alternates between present and past, carefully revealing pieces of truth that kept me glued to the pages. While the story's conclusion was somewhat predictable due to not having enough of red herrings (in my opinion), the journey getting there was amazing. As Alfred Hitchcock said, "There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it," and Tintera masters this anticipation, even if the final reveal isn't quite as shocking as it could be.

I loved the style of this audiobook having the podcast taping and interviews in there and dual narration.

Overall I felt like this book was just alright - I felt like because there was soooo many characters it was hard to develop them all. 

The book was the 3 but if I was rating just the audio book it would have been a 5

Obviously I enjoyed this since I read it in one afternoon. Made me laugh at loud at parts, but not the most shocking murder mystery. That being said I spent the whole read speculating and trying to guess what happened but I was still surprised.

5 hours. That’s how long it took me to devour these ink-bled pages. Amy Tintera created such an intriguing and spellbinding “whodunnit” that it was hard not to immediately turn to the next page, if only to catch a glimpse of a hint of what happened. With such well-developed and dynamic characters filling the page, I almost wish this book was 300 pages longer just to be able to spend more time with them. In short, a murder mystery with a sarcastic AF main character will always have my heart, but one that so excellently hides the ending and unsuspecting killer from the audience? Well, now that’s just something to die for.

i absolutely loved this book. the audible version is the way to go, it gives you the sense that you are actually listening to a podcast. i found it both humorous and thrilling, a few good twists throughout the book. you’ll definitely love the characters, especially the grandma and won’t want to put this book down. 4 stars only because it didn’t WOW me like other thrillers do. lucy was found covered in her best friends blood but can’t remember anything from that night. lucy is forced to visit her hometown and meets with the podcaster, ben owen’s and soon starts to seek out the truth of that night.

This is my first time reading a dark & comical murder-mystery thriller & i loved it! The banter and the chemistry between Lucy & Ben was great. I think the dark humor and sardonic nature of the FMC really adds something special to the book. I loved the mystery aspect of it too, and seeing how Lucy struggles with being accused by everyone in her home town, even those closest to her, and how that affects her in the long run with her memories and healing through the trauma she went through. My only gripe i guess would be that i found the writing a little repetitive at times, and i kinda of guessed the plot twist a little bit before the end, which took away the shock factor for me. Otherwise, i thought this was a great thriller with an interesting group of suspects, and i would definitely recommend!
