This is set in the 60s London at girls college. The story flips back and forth between different points of Carmel’s (main character) life.
 Every night i’d pick it up and it makes me feel as if i was part of Carmel’s group of friends; i was part of their lives; i felt their sufferings, their joy,hopes and disappointments. 
 Hilary is a great author; specially when it comes to details!! Oh>> I found the book very satisfying, might attempt picking another book of hers soon.
