An Offer From a Gentleman Bridgerton
Reviews

I’m sorry but this was so good, that finished it in like a week. I couldn’t put my book down. It was like a Cinderella story but with a twist.

Loved Sophie. I think I adored Benedict and I liked this Cinderella retelling.

i immediately love sophie's character the second i met her! i love her strength and her resilience especially with her unfair situation. she stayed true to herself and her morals and i love that! she’s just a girl that wants to be loved and to have a family that loves her. i’m so glad she found that with the bridgertons <3 found family fr
anyways sophiebenedict - love their playful banter and how they can be themselves with each other
[ i love a protective man but idk benedict's brash insistence for sophie to be his mistress gave me the ick like i understand that he was worried for her to be out in the world alone but she can clearly take care of herself. anyways benedict basically commanding sophie to stay with him rubbed me the wrong way (hide spoiler)]
still loved sophiebenedict and how they love each other as well as how their love story played out. however, i am disappointed that i didn't completely love this book especially with how i was annoyed with benedict sometimes but we move.
still very excited for bridgerton season four !! finally getting my asian cinderella story with my girl sophie !!!!

Best one so far from this whole series omg I love them and the fact that it was a Cinderella retelling just made it better

retelling of Cinderella in regency England. hard to enjoy with that amount of predictability

3.5/5 ⭐️ benedict y sophie son lo mejor que me paso en la vida 🥹🫶

it was a fun read. oh my heart, I love Benedict and Sophie 🥺🥺

Ugh! Benedict Bridgerton can jump of a bridge. I found the original fairy tale frustrating and this retelling (?) was equally annoying. Sophie deserved better. I read this with the hopes of losing myself in the cheesy, gooey world of Victorian romance and instead I found myself grinding my teeth every time the protagonists interacted. Clearly not the fun experience I had been expecting.

A Cinderella retelling. But I liked it!

This Cinderella retelling was just too good. It took me a while to get into it at first but omggggg I loved it so so much. And I love Violet Bridgerton so much! This series could actually be one of mt faves.

The Cinderella retelling wasn’t my favorite part but this was such an unexpected fun read! Didn’t think I would Benedict’s book but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it

Cinderella retelling!! I had no idea going in and Cinderella is my fav princess. Breaking class boundaries and Violet being so supportive. I really enjoyed this book. Glad to see Posie get her happy ending too. Great addition to the series.

what is wrong with Julia? I genuinely need to know.

Benedict is my favourite Bridgerton. But book Benedict was kinda off in his book. I just can't picture the actor doing some things. But besides that, it was a charming and quick romance.

** spoiler alert ** This is the first book in the series I read. I gave it a 3.5. There were a handful of times Benedict was just an asshole. I really hope that on screen, and knowing Benedict’s character they make it better and change it so he doesn’t seem like such an asshole. The part of him not wanting to marry her b/c of her status, and not being able to stop the first time they are doing. Like sir, this is NOT the Benedict Bridgerton I know LOVE.

"i have been adrift all my life," "let me be your anchor." was a quick and quite enjoyable read

benedict is my favorite bridgerton and I can't wait for this book to be in real life

Reading this was nice but the superior Cinderella retelling will always be Hilary Duff’s

can benedict choke on something <3

could’ve been 3.5 stars and higher if benedict stopped pushing for the mistress narrative

neg .5 stars because benedict licked her elbow and i couldn’t stop thinking about it for the next 450 pages

So far this is my favorite book in the series. I love Benedict and Sophie so much and their story was just as good. The banter between the two was so enjoyable and love the Cinderella-like retelling! The only thing I would have wanted more of is Benedict’s art background talked about more than the little bit we got. Especially when it was acknowledged by his family.

Great read Great read. I enjoy this series. A good romance book with interesting characters. I will continue this series. I recommend it.
Highlights

"Have I told you lately how much I love you?" "No, but I know, anyway." "Have I mentioned that you're the best of mothers?" "No, but I know that, too." "Good. It's a privilege to be your son." "This is a nice family." - Posy "I know." - Sophie

"That is not for stealing my dowry. It's not for all the times you tried to boot me out of my house before my father died. And it's not even for turning me into you personal slave. That was for not living your daughters equally. There's a special place in hell for mothers like you."

"You will never see another invitation again in this town." - Lady Bridgerton "I am a countess!" - Araminta "And I am more popular"
again - this woman 😭😭😭

"Why do you hate me?" "Because he loved you. I will never forgive him for that." "If he loved me he wouldn't have left me with you. He wasn't stupid; he had to have known how much you hated me. If he loved me he wouldn't have forgotten me in his will... If he loved me - If he loved me he might have taken the time to talk to me. He might have asked me how my day went, or what I was studying, or did I enjoy my breakfast... He never loved me. He didn't know how to love."

"What happens when one falls in love with someone unsuitable?" [...] "I would have to say that I love you very much and will support you in all things."
this woman 😭😭😭

Would anyone cry for him more than a decade after he died?

"I can live with you hating me. I just can't live without you."
💔

"Oh, Benedict!" "Yes, Mother?" "You will tell me what happens, won't you?" "Of course, Mother." "You're lying to me but I forgive you. It's so nice to see you in love." "I'm not -" "Whatever you say, dear."
🤎

"I would allow my children to marry paupers if it would bring them happiness"
😭

"Be mine," he said, his voice thick and urgent. "Be mine right now. Be mine forever. I'll give you anything you want. All I want in return is you."
