King of Pride Kings of Sin, Book 2
Reviews

Kai is who I wished I would’ve met on my study abroad

a telenovela in a book form. it's so fun to see people fall in love?? their monologues, their intense reaction, the head spinning ear buzzing feeling?? still, something is off (like always with ana huang's) but it feels like a very nice guilty pleasure to me.

yes i finished this witihin a day. . . . i’ve been seated ever since ana huang said she was inspired by that one scene from business proposal EEEEK
london boy and coney island - taylor swift
pov - ariana grande "imperfect by your own standards but so wonderfully perfect for me.”
i love isabella!! my filipina girl !! her insecurities felt so real and it was refreshing to see a fmc to have similar doubts about not having their life figured out. i also loveeee the filipino representation especially with the mention of the delicious foods and familial nicknames
isabella and kai are opposites attract but they definitely match each other’s freak 🦕 also this may be a very specific niche but i love it when the couple's individual povs have similar internal monologues like it's giving soulmate hehe - like at some point, isabella and kai were both internally fighting with their inner voices
"Besides, he’s not your type. Remember? Oh, shut up, Debbie Downer. Great. Now my inner voices were arguing with each other."
"It would’ve been worth it, an insidious voice sang. Shut up, another voice snapped. You never know what’s good for you. I rubbed a hand over my face. Great. Now I was silently arguing with myself. Damn Isabella."

"King of Pride" by Ana Huang was an enjoyable read, but I found Kai and Isabella's story a bit slower than I expected. While I love Ana Huang's writing style and have been on a spree of her books, this one didn't quite grip me as much as the others. There were times when the plot felt a bit repetitive, and I found myself putting it down more often than I'd like. But the library scene? My god. My god, my god, my god! Loved it. I just felt that towards the end of the book, it started to slow down. Still, it's a solid book with some great moments, and I'm glad I read it, even if it wasn't my favorite.

This book..... adena is so sweet I can't... and the way mak fall for her... is so so cute... I was giggling all the book until some certain chapters... it brok me... she way we got mak pov I literally broke down with him I was sobbing so hard... I want thier happy end in heaven...pleseeeee!!!!

i need a book about Vuk. thats all i need

kai young you will always be famous

i'm glad i came back and finished reading it...just so i can get to the next book i would like a kai in my life tho

this felt similar to king of sloth but it was enjoyable regardless

I’m. in. love. I had high expectations for this one after loving every single bit of King of Wrath and it definitely delivered. Kai stole my heart immediately (which is no surprise, you can’t have a British accent and overwhelming intelligence and expect me not to fall in love) and Isabella was such an amazing heroine, one of my favourites that I’ve read about in a long time. Apart from the romance that was so heartwarming (and steamy, the tension at the beginning of this book?) I genuinely laughed out loud when I was reading it, it was so unexpectedly funny. Their banter was entertaining, their love was more than believable and the progression of their relationship was just so nice to read about. Now I have to go through these torturous months of waiting before I can finally read about Dominic and Alessandra. From the moment they made their first appearances I’ve been dying to get their story. Ana Huang writing marriage in distress? Count me in.

KAI YOUNG. that's it. OH MY GOD.

“I’d never fallen in love before her. Once I did, I did it the way I did everything else. Completely. Totally. Irrevocably.” This might be the best book Ana’s put out since the fan favorite Twisted Games. She’s outdone herself writing Kai and Isabella’s story. They are everything to me! They’re definitely one of the healthiest ships out there and they’re so unapologetically them. I can guarantee y’all I’ve never annotated a book this much in YEARS. This had fluff and promising spice through and through + adorable jealousy scenes. It perfectly captured an uptight businessman and a beautifully-chaotic bartender falling into a car crash of messy feelings and undeniable tension. Not to mention the Filipino rep?? My expectations were through the roof when I first saw the synopsis for this book and it didn’t disappoint! I didn’t expect to see so much Filipino culture and traditions packed in a book and I am super super thankful that I got to see Isabella share these with Kai and the readers because the representation was well-written. As a Filipina, I pride myself in our food and culture and Isabella captured my heart from page 1 <3. Ana served with that dedication because Kai Young is a fresh character from all her other male leads, and is the perfect mix of the exceptionally good-looking intellectual with an eccentric personality. I wish to get more kaisabella content and I actually demand they have cameos in the next book (which I am absolutely looking forward to).

Love it, honestly I like the first one better but this one was also really good. That breakup tho broke me.

start a new month with a BANG!!!! I don't know but I'm just thinking this can be a possible exciting book in the series more than the first one. sorry and no offense to Dante, but... KAI YOUNG GOT ME HOT. this is what I expected from the book; the romance, the tension, the excitement, even the spiciness... wow.... King Of Pride somehow gives a reflect to me because in other some ways I am related to Isabella and Kai. one moment to remind, girls get you a man like Kai Young or you can just stay single until you meet a Kai Young! ⭐⭐⭐⭐,5

this was a painful read… 2 stars because the first 100 pages were decent

I love them.

Ugh men with glasses with their sleeves rolled up make me 🤤😩
Added .5 because of the accent even tho I have it too 😺

Boring plot and I had no connection to the main characters, blah.

Not the best so far but pretty cute:) I started focusing more on Dominic and Alesandras relationship?? Ahem🤨🤨🤨 he better grovel on his KNEES

Love the mouth on this man 😩 Filipino represent as well! I love how it was represented well and didn’t feel forced. 💗

yawn

Loved the feather scene, but I feel like it was lacking something more.

2.5⭐️ uhhhh idk if i’m an ana huang girl like i liked twisted games but i was soooo bored during this and the amount of times i cringed 😭😭😭 i’ll try one more book

Highlights

"...The thought of dying without achieving something is…” Depressing. Suffocating. Terrifying.

“Your name on the cover! I’m so proud of you.”
Isabella’s mum proud of her.

a little chaos is good for the soul.

I thought nothing tasted better than victory. Then I met you.

Running into Isabella was a stroke of good luck, and I had no intention of wasting it.

I’d prided myself on being bold and adventurous when really, I was a fucking coward who ran from rejection before rejection could find me.

By the time christmasbirthdaynewyearpalooza ended, I was to mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted.

Gabriel was harsh but he was right.

Every few minutes, my lolo would nod off and my Lola would smack his arm, jerking him awake.
This made me giggle

“Don’t you think Kai should be the one who determines the suitability of his partner?” Isabella cut in. She smiled at the flare of surprise on my mothers face.

It wasn’t how I’d picture meeting Isabella’s family, but at least he’d interrupted me before I committed several felonies and a murder.
Kai met Isabella’s older brother Gabriel for the first time.

K + I, inside a heart.

Kai had called me love many times before, but he’d never called me his.

“You’re not alone,” I said softly. “You have me.”

A pang pierced my gut at the sight of the hand drawn hearts.

He hated the topping and I loved it, which meant we were pizza partners made in heaven.
Kai and Isabella eating pizza on Coney Island

“There’s a secret party back here and no one invited us? I’m offended.

Christian was a wolf dressed in custom-tailored sheep’s clothing.
Kai’s description of Christian

“Alex, Ava, good to see you.”

“You’re a CEO,” Isabella said, coming up beside me. “So obviously, corporate boards don’t care that much about scandals. Didn’t you get your car blown up earlier this year?”
Reference to twisted lies when Christian blew up Victors Porsche.

“No, because you’re small and yappy.”

“You should’ve never let me take you, Isabella. Because now that I have, I won’t be able to let you go.”

I looked forward to her messages with embarrassing anticipation.
