Very predictable but still enjoyable. An easy read.

Ana Huang has my whole heart! I had such a great time reading this book. The back and forth banter between Dante and Vivian, their chemistry, the angst, was chef’s kiss. Even though you sort of know what’s going to happen, having it unfold the way it did was delightful to read. I couldn’t put the book down. Not just the romance, but the way the book explores different family dynamics and the dysfunctional relationships that go along with it is very realistic and refreshing. It doesn’t sugarcoat anything, but gives it to you straight and certainly makes you ask some tough questions. Balancing what your heart desires and familial expectations is a Herculean task, and only the very lucky ones get to have the best of both worlds. But maybe that’s a cultural thing and it’s just me. Dante and Vivian have my heart ❤️

Loved this and love how Ana Huang interconnects this series to the twisted series!

Unforgettable

I loved this book! I loved Vivians strong / powerful personality, I loved the family dynamics and I loved the way they thought logically. Dante is your typical billionaire, but I loved him because he was so well written.
But what I loved most were the FIGHTS! It felt so realistic and both POV’s were right! Just like a normal fight there isn’t one clear answer where one person is clearly wrong and one is right. Both are right in their own perspectives.

Dante and Vivians Story was Beautiful. Where can I find a Dante??

It was a super immersive story and the characters were great, but I feel like it moved quite fast at a few moments.

I did really love Dante y’all😛

i should hate u - gracie abrams
partition - beyonce
love seeing viviandante slow-burn relationship develop from an arrange marriage GAH THE ANGST THE DRAMMA and the groveling !!
i love vivian! she is such a complex female character where she is strongwilled yet fragile when it comes to her family. ugh she is such my fav character so far
viviandante are different people especially with their own cultural differences which I love that the book talked about - but they both have one thing in common: their love for their family
this is such a good start to the kings series and i am so excited for the rest of the series

This book had me hooked from the very beginning, and I couldn't put it down. The story follows the intense and charismatic Dante Russo, who is a billionaire with a dark past. His character is so well-written, with layers of complexity that make him both captivating and relatable. Dante's relationship with Vivian, the strong and independent heroine, is electric. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the slow burn of their romance had me on the edge of my seat. The way they navigate their feelings amidst all the twists and turns of the plot is just perfection.

This book is great I loved viv was a baddasa but not with her parents and date OH LORD !!!! THIS MAN " DO U WANT ME ON MY KNEES!!!!" FUCKKKK OFFFF WOWOWOWOWO but there no was plot twist like not wow in the twisted love 🙂 but oval it's good... 🏃♀️➡️🏃♀️➡️✨️✨️

The reintroduction part was so goofy

THIS WAS EVERYTHING!!! The chemistry between Dante and Vivian is the ELITE. Ana’s books just keep getting better and better…I’m here for all her characters!! There was not a single page I did not enjoy reading and I don’t know how long I’ll be able to wait for the the next couple👀 *not spoiling* LETS GOO!!!!

Read this book in a day! I couldn’t put it down once I stared!! Is definitely one of my favourites and will recommend to all of my friends. Bring on king of pride!!!!!!!

3.5 ⭐️ there were moments where this book had me KICKING my feet and giggling. like the bar for my future billionaire husband is HIGH. but after the 80% mark, it just didn’t feel the same :( a very quick, easy read.

2.5 👍

3.5 - it was fun and a quick read!

this story features Dante and Vivian, two people forced into a arranged marriage by Vivian’s parents. Neither party wanted this at all…but never say never
im back reading another one of Ana’s series. I loved this book so much.

I swear there is crack in these books because I ate this up again like no other. Such an enjoyable and quick read! I will always devour billionaire romance and arranged marriage tropes because of the palpable tension and the goddamn smut (yall know what i’m talking about) Dante and Vivian truly didn’t miss! They weren’t exactly slowburn, because the attraction was there from the very beginning but I looked forward to it nonetheless. Lastly, the plot isn’t exactly unique, but at this point I’m really down bad for any book written by her so I need the next one already booo tomatoes throwing tomatoes (kai *coughs* young)

It was good, I’m excited to read the next ones

When I was reading twisted lies, I thought man, I would read a whole book on Dante mf Russo. NOT REALIZING he has a book :)
Anyway I really liked this book. I think the more Ana Huang books I read the more I like her. I did however have a love hate relationship with every character except maybe Isabella and Sloane.

this wasn't as good as the twisted book i read but this works so well for no-brain romance

first read 11/11/2022 second read 4/3/2024 2.5 stars this was just ok
Highlights

Moving on didn't always involve big gestures or heavy talks. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments were the small onesa softening glance here, a simple but sincere apology there.

Dante stood at the other end of the hall, talking to a beautiful redhead and an Asian man with cheek bones sharp enough to cut ice.
Jules and Josh spotted in this chapter talking about the painting ‘Magda’

Vivian once told me about a Chinese proverb that said an invisible thread connected those destined to meet, regardless of time, place and circumstance.

“I speak six languages, Dante. Italian is one of them.”

A sky without stars, a home without heart.

In a space of a week, I’d lost my family and I’d lost Dante.

I had to protect my family… this is just business

If I set aside my intense dislike for her family, being with her was like breathing.

In the words of Enzo Russo, emotion was weakness, and there was no room for weakness in the cutthroat corporate world.

But I’d also never met anyone like Vivian. Of all people in my life, she was the only one who could make me lose control.
Dante realising his feelings.

We kissed like we were drowning, and the other person was our only source of oxygen. Wild. Frantic. Desperate.

“…. Exclusive collection, which means there are only ten in existence. Queen Bridget of Eldorra owns the sapphire version.
Luca talking to Vivian about jewellery.

The sight of a laughing, unguarded Dante was utterly catastrophic for my ovaries.
Dante genuinely amused by Vivian’s comparisons.

“Welcome to the truce, Mia cara.”

I was going to call her Mia cara every chance I got.

The kiss really had fucked with my head.

But when I plucked it from the box and slid it onto my finger, I felt.. nothing.
The moment Vivian first put the ring on.

Dante was a billionaire, but he had the manners of an I’ll bred troll.

Vivian’s eyes glowed with anger. “You’re an asshole.”
“Yes, I am. Better get used to it, Mia cara…

Fuck revenge being a dish best served cold;my motto has always been strike fast, strike hard and strike true.

Not so boring after all.
Dante’s impression over Vivian
