The curve of his lips branded my neck with male satisfaction. “I’ll take that as a no.” He dipped his thumb, ever so briefly, in the tiny gap between my stomach and the waistband of my jeans.

“Screw the wedding—crap. Hold on.” Ava must’ve covered the speaker because her words became muffled. “No, honey, of course I still want to get married! I was talking to Stella about the, um, wedding planner…no, don’t fire her. She’s great. I was just frustrated in the moment. Bridal nerves, you know. I’m fine now. Yes, I promise...why did I call for you? Uh, I’m craving those new raspberry lemon cookies from Crumble & Bake. Can you please run down and get some for me? Thank you! Love you.”Ava returned, sounding breathless. “Sorry about that. Alex has been so on edge about the wedding. He made our florist cry the other day.” She sighed. “We’re working on his interpersonal skills.”

“It’s still polite to announce your presence.”

“I would’ve, but I was too fascinated by the sight of you stumbling around my living room like a drunken baby elephant.” Laughter rumbled from his chest at my indignant gasp. I wasn’t the best dancer, but I was a better dancer than a drunken elephant.

 Probably. Maybe. “In a charming way, of course.”

My dignity would never recover from this.

In a cool brush of air, Christian was gone. 

The door slammed shut behind him, and I collapsed against the couch, the watch dangling from my fingers and the ruins of the world as I knew it at my feet. 

My breath grazed her cheek as I slid my palm over the curve of her shoulder and down her arm. “I’m not a jealous man, Stella. I have never envied someone for what they have or who they’re with, and yet…” My fingers glided down to her wrist. “I’m jealous of every person you smile at…” A brush over her fingers. “Every laugh I don’t hear…” My touch dipped to her knee and made a slow, languorous journey up her thigh. “Every breeze that touches your skin and every sound that pours through your lips. It. Is. Maddening.” 

“Pray do tell. I’m on the edge of my seat.”

I ignored his unhelpful sarcasm. “You take yourself too seriously, and you work too much. You should take more vacations, or at least connect with nature every once in a while. It’s good for the soul.”

“It’s too late for my soul, Stella.”

Despite his light tone, I sensed he wasn’t joking.

My smile faded. “Spoken like a true pessimist.”

“Skeptic.” Christian’s lips tugged up at my frown. “Shall we continue playing thesaurus or move on to a more interesting topic?” 

“We’ll move on, but only because I want to spare you the indignity of losing,” I said regally. 

“Time to reciprocate, Butterfly. Tell me something I don’t know about you.”

“Can’t you look up everything you want to know on one of your fancy computers?” I was only half joking.

“I don’t know if watching me stand and pout is exciting,” she laughed. Her arms tightened over her chest, but neither of us made a move toward her clothes, which lay folded on a towel a few feet away. 

“I could watch you count every grain of sand on the beach and it would be exciting.”

Phew, finally done. My first ana huang’s book, and i’m so pleased with myself. I purchased this book, because I love thick books, and when I sat down to read the story, it got me engaged, and the stalker situation just made everything so much more exciting. Maybe I have read too many dark romances, but back then when these books were all hyped up, I couldn’t read past one word, but now, i’m so glad I have finally grown in my journey, that helps me explore more and more about myself and the interests I invest in, Christian is so much more than what he lets on, and the blurb isn’t even fitting the whole story, I loved this book, but I still need to go reminisce about everything after just finishing this book, loved it so, so much.

I really loved Stella too, she was really relatable even with the whole influencer aspect of it. also, it is always the quiet ones...

i finally finished this series! this part did not disappoint me and i think it takes the second place (on the first place will always be my beloved twisted games). i agree that this had the most interesting plot of all, and that the second half of the book was much better than the first.

christian was wonderful, how he didn't believe in love at first but stella proved to him that it is a real thing. it's crazy how he became obsessed with her after just one encounter and how he kept her ring in his pocket for 5 years. how he wrote her a letter every day while they were not together... he really is the best.

the epilogue was perfect and i'm glad that everyone is happy. i will miss them all (rhys more and josh less, but yea, i will miss them).

Okay I didn’t hate it. It just felt like it was too long. The first half of the book was amazing. It had everything I wanted; broody and grey main  male character , passionate and cute female main character and there were the small moments. Half way through the book it started to get so flat. I thought okay maybe the stalker will spice stuff up, but it didn’t ☹️.

Christian was down bad but was always respectful around Stella, never pushing himself on her and just caring for her in ways that didn’t involve money. Glad I gave the rest of the series a chance.

Wow, wow, wow. "Twisted Lies" blew me away! Out of all the books in the series, this one is my favorite. At first, it felt a bit like "Fifty Shades of Grey" with Christian and Stella, but it quickly found its own vibe. The suspense and plot twists had me hooked, and the ending was just perfect. I seriously hope this series gets turned into a TV show—I’d binge-watch every episode!

Can’t believe I just finished this book T__T I felt like I went through this series with the blink of an eye and now I’m leaving them behind. I’m so not ready omg. This book literally SERVED fake dating the way I liked it + tension and slowburn <3 i am religiously in love with ana huang’s books now. I didn’t really think I’d like Christian and Stella’s story, but it gave so much more than I expected and was defijitely a great choice for ending the series. It brought me lots of comfort during the toughest times of my uni life 🫶🏻

the twisted series is over but i want to say i love christian and stella so much! this series was so good and i was on the edge of my seat every second. Thank you Ana for creating this wonderful group of characters.
