A series of dark, mature, spicy contemporary romance novels where the underlying attraction was so apparent from the get-go between the couples. I like how Ana Huang has curated a universe where her characters could be interwoven in other books, anticipating the familiarity and appreciating the character development throughout the series. I’ve read all four standalone books in order and my fav among the series was “Twisted Lies” because of how well the story developed and how the undeniable chemistry between the leads unfolded. I understand the hype for these books but I feel that they’re all too insta-lust and insta-love, like the smut scenes were literally made for people with humiliation/degradation kinks bc it’s so graphic it probably altered my brain chemistry. I did adore the friendships between all the characters and how each of them have grown as side characters throughout the series. Each book was so addicting, albeit morally grey—ahem, Christian Harper—boy did I love him. Man’s literally obsessed with Stella and I ate that shit up.
