Anais Nin

Anais Nin's second volume of erotic short stories is broader in scope, encompassing the entire breadth of human sensuality. Each of the 13 stories captures a moment of pure desire, in all its complexity and paradoxical simplicity.

Little Birds

Thirteen erotic vignettes capture a variety of sexual experiences as they feature rivals for the same lover, husbands with exotic tastes and frustrated wives, a celebrated prostitute, a sixteen-year-old waif striving to surpass her mother, and other adventurers. Reprint. 15,000 first printing.

Erotica

Janet Doré

I'm disappointed to say there was a canyon-sized gap between my lofty expectation and actual experience of reading this book. It's my very first Anaïs Nin book after at least a decade of mounting interest (...my virtual 'To Read' stack would pose a worthy challenge to the Burj Khalifa). I'd like to say it was merely the generation gap that was the cause of my disappointment (and occasional gagging), but I can't. It was also the writing. I expected stellar...I got standard. I'm not dismissing Ms. Nin by any means...a woman whose passionately insightful quotes have brought many a glow to my spirit definitely deserves another chance. Just don't think I'll be picking up any of her pedophiliac tainted erotica.

These 13 erotic short stories by the acclaimed author of Henry and June explore the nature of desire, taboo, and female sensuality. Following her first book of erotic short fiction, Delta of Venus, Anaïs Nin continues to illuminate the many guises of human sexuality in Little Birds. From the beach towns of Normandy to the streets of New Orleans, these thirteen vignettes introduce us to a covetous French painter, a sleepless wanderer of the night, a guitar-playing gypsy, and a host of others who yearn for and dive into the turbulent depths of romantic experience. "[It is] so distinct an advance in the depiction of female sensuality that I felt, on reading it, enormous gratitude."-Alice Walker "One of contemporary literature's most important writers."-Newsweek

Treize récits érotiques dans la veine de "Venus erotica". Anaïs Nin y parle - en femme - du sexe de la femme, comme l'écrit le critique du "Monde".
