I'm very conflicted about this book. It's a clear ACOTAR rip off with the intention of being a reverse harem. I don't understand the magic system. What is the purpose of the truth bringers? I appreciate that the MC is strong willed but why are they immediately so attracted to her? There's no romance in this. Spice was a 1/5. Writing was good tho. I will read the second one. Reread: this is only three stars because I like the writing and world building. There's no chemistry with any of the princes and this is for sure not a reverse harem like the author is promoting it to be.

Was engaging and interesting enough to keep me reading — finished it in two sittings. Your average variety fae story with some interesting lore and mythology behind the magic and world. I did enjoy the characters even if in this first book they didn’t get very much time to develop as there are quite a lot of them so everyone kind of slots into and fulfills their one role in the story and in the group. I’m endured to continue reading however as now it’s getting somewhere plot wise - it feels as if now finally shit’s about to get real!

Now what I expected but I loved it nonetheless authors tiktoks are absolutely false advertisment. This isn't a spicy Rh, but it's still good. I also don't really get the book title, where was the trickery? I still really enjoyed reading it. The story made me want to know more about everything. And I am so looking forward to the second book.

I guess I was just expecting more after all the hype. The ending did leave me wanting the next book, otherwise I might not bother picking it up…
