Nearly everything about this book rubbed me the wrong way. I vaguely remembered loving the book when I first read it thirteen years ago. This time, none of that love remained.
I disliked so much about Rivers' underlying theology as well as character development or lack thereof. Rivers stated outright the simplistic characteristics of all of her primary characters. None of them truly changed throughout, not in a real way at least.
This book most definitely did not survive the second round of the purge of my personal collection.
