In 1960s Paris, Paul van Heerden is the only South African the French Foreign Office will listen to. At the same time, Ambassador van Heerden is embroiled in an affair with Nicolette, the promiscuous mistress of the Embassy's Third Secretary. Each man tells his story, and each pays a price.
