A solid conclusion to the series!  Did I learn everything I wanted to about the Alanga?  No, but I'm greedy that way.  I love the history/lore that form the backbone of any good story. 

What I had suspected regarding the maturation of the Alanga/ossalen bond played out and was both satisfying and tragic for a number of different reasons.  It was right for the story, but also kind of sad.  I would have loved to learn more about Dione's ossalen beyond what was inferred.  

The character arcs resolved in ways that felt appropriate - both those with redemption arcs and those without. 

Would I read future (or past) tales set in The Drowning Empire?  Absolutely if she ever feels there's more she wants to tell!

An excellent end to the trilogy, with stakes that just keep climbing (and islands that just keep sinking!!)
